Eloise helped as they quietly pushed the old door open. Eloise watched in amazement as Gerwulf waved his hand, all the candles they had managed to sneak over the years instantly lit. Chalk drawings and books littered the room, showing the progress of their friendship. This was their safe space to speak freely and for Gerwulf to practice his magic.

Ataraxis asked as she pointed her sword at Welkin. The smile on Ataraxis's face disappeared as Welkin suddenly became serious. "I'm just kidding don't be so serious Wizard." Ataraxis said while laughing a bit as she put the sword back at the table. "Mister Welkin what does the world of Echor look like?" Yūgen asked suddenly. Welkin smiled at Yūgen and just ignored Ataraxis. Welkin began to talk about the colorful world of Echor. From the beautiful flowers and delicious food that only in Echor can find and about the kind elves, muggles and dwarves he met in his five hundred years of existence.

The face of the wolf looked almost human and she had the bizarre feeling the animal was staring out at her from the page. Stop it! You're letting this book mess with your mind. But one of the chapters had mentioned the hypnotic effect of the wolf's eyes. It cautioned against staring into them too long. Well, that certainly wouldn't be a problem. She had no intention of ever getting close enough to such a savage animal to have a staring contest with it. Then her mind went back to those few seconds in her kitchen when for a moment she'd felt transported to an alternate reality. No, that had nothing to do with this. Mike and a wolf? She had to be losing her mind.
