The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

Then Peanut whispered: "Erase?" Kael nodded. Then: "They don't conquer." Pause. Then: "They don't rule." Another pause. Then: "They destroy." The Devourer took another step. The horizon cracked beneath its weight. Then suddenly— the sky above the city split open. Red lightning exploded everywhere. Then dozens of dark shapes emerged from the clouds. Flying. Fast. Very fast. Then Ava looked up. Immediately. Then: "Oh come on." Honestly? Fair. Very fair. Reasonable honestly.

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

Ashes of the Sky

Ashes of the Sky

It's beautiful. Students move across the grounds in clusters, some already in uniform, others dragging bags behind them. And everywhere— Beasts. Not just one kind. Dozens. I have only read about the beasts and bonds. Old books with outdated photos. Skyless Keep, the prison I once called home, had a small library with about 12 beat up history books. They only allowed books regarding Elarion, Nythera, and Solvaris. I read them until the words were permanently etched into my brain. Suddenly, I'm ripped from my thoughts. I'm surrounded my beasts and magic and students everywhere. While I thought I would be afraid to see the beasts so close, I'm actually in awe.

Mr. CEO, You Have to Marry My Mommy

Mr. CEO, You Have to Marry My Mommy

Sky whispered, amusedly. "I have a feeling that my book has moved up a class, Mommy. This bookstore is big. It will be hard to find my book if it has moved." Suddenly, Summer stopped walking. Her eyes were round, her mouth wide open. "See? My book is no longer in the top corner!" Summer jumped a little. She checked the other corners of the shelves. Not finding her book, her laughter escaped. "Mommy, Daddy, my book has indeed moved up a class! Let's find where it is now!"

Babysitting the Mafia Princess

Babysitting the Mafia Princess

He was calm, focused, arms on his desk, taking notes as if he hadn’t ruined her entire night twelve hours ago. “He’s going down,” she whispered. Jonah sighed. “I don’t like being near you when you start thinking.” Sky flipped open her notebook with a wicked grin. Revenge class was now in session. Sky pretended to take notes, pen hovering above the page like she was totally focused on the lesson. In reality, she was sketching evil plans. Literally sketching. Her notebook now contained: 1. Charlie tied to a rocket She sighed. No, that’s ridiculous. Where would she even find a rocket?

Skies We No Longer Share

Skies We No Longer Share

"Jeff? Is he your husband?" "No, he's a stranger." With those final words, Cecilia stood up and walked out without looking back. Zephyr City was known for its endless rainy days, and today was no different. Cecilia walked through the rain with her head held high, quickly vanishing into the crowd. Goodbye, Zephyr City. She had no ties to that place anymore...

Heart Toward the Sky

Heart Toward the Sky

How could you possibly like someone else? [Stop saying stuff like that. He can't stand you talking about liking other people.] He had done so many terrible things. Couldn't I get back at him a little? ... After getting off the plane, I started to search for the hotel I had booked. Owen crossed his arms. "Where's the person you like?" I blinked, and he raised an eyebrow, chuckling knowingly, "Alright, don't make jokes like that again." He was convinced that I had said those things to make him jealous, but it wasn't long before I spotted a head of bright golden hair.

Feral on the Ice

Feral on the Ice

It emerged into a Room. A room so large that the three-mile-high Spire was no bigger than a needle on a desk. The "Sky" was a ceiling made of white, fluorescent tiles. The "Sun" was a massive, glowing desk lamp. And sitting at the "Desk," looking down at the Spire with eyes the size of continents, was a Child. A child with messy hair, wearing a shirt that said "Universe-Builder Pro," and holding a pair of tweezers. "Oh," the Child whispered, a sound that shook the Spire's very foundations. "I thought I deleted that folder."

His Claws On My Neck

Axel signaled him to come nearer and sit in front of him. “What’s your name and rank?” “I-I’m Sky... and I’m a Psi,” he meekly muttered, pushing his glasses up. Axel understandingly nodded. A Psi, just like Liam. “Good evening to you too, Sky. What do you need?” “W-Well, uh, I just finished reading a book and I-I thought I’d share it with you... Alpha.” Sky gave him the book with shaking hands. He looked down on the cover and read the title: The Anthem of Lycanthropy.

When The Sky Falls

When The Sky Falls

Zayden jerked his head up A car was stopped right in front of him. He tried to swerve, but the wet, icy road betrayed him. The tires lost grip. The steering wheel spun under his hands. The vehicle skidded across the slick pavement Then everything flipped. Metal screamed. Glass shattered. The world turned upside down. And then... Silence. Cold. Dark. The snow outside continued falling, calm and steady… as his crumpled car lay still on the side of the road. *****

“Prove it.” She looked down at the compass again. The red needle turned one last time and stopped, pointing straight up. Above her, the sky split open like torn paper. Light poured down. And the voice soft, distant, not human this time whispered:
