Whatever was behind that door, it was better than being crushed by the collapsing chamber.
“Alright,” Ethan said, steeling himself. “We go through.”
With a profound breath, he set his hand on the center of the entryway. The images flared brightly, and the entryway started to slide open with a moo, crushing sound. A cold wind surged out from the obscurity behind, carrying with it the faintest whisper of voices, echoes of the past, or maybe something distant and more vile.
They ventured through the door, into the Abyss.
