Lord Huron-- In the wind. "Mr. Woods, do you mind doing the outro?" Ace stared at nothing in particular for as long as he could remember before uttering, "My name is Ace," he said, his voice almost inaudible, "and that is the story of how I lost my fiancée exactly one year ago."

*** After I was done in the washroom, I rechecked my appearance and decided to join the party again. I'd taken extra moments than I needed considering the advice Casie provided. I didn't know what fate would bring out of Ace and my relationship, even if there was something, but I wanted to know everything that had happened in the past. Because hearing Tess's confession that night on the rooftop and observing Ace's behavior and hints of knowing of my feelings years ago, forced me to think beyond. There was definitely something I didn't know.

Who would think a man like Ace cared about anyone else let alone come to a charity gala. When he came over the next day ,we shared drinks, played some games , spoke at length, although he never made the mistake of mentioning anything relating to his life or family , I didn't push it. After more drinks , he kissed me , it was magical, we made love that night , I had never felt that way with any man before, that night all I could comprehend was the tangled sheets , Ace and me against the world. Waking up the following morning, Ace was gone. I searched everywhere for him , after a fruitless search,I received a text from a strange number, the text that kept me wanting more !"

A frustrated sigh escaped his lips for the tenth time. Ace remembered the day that he smiled genuinely. It was the day that he held her in his arms as he watched her beautiful face. She looked so beautiful and less stubborn while asleep. Ace wondered if she was fine or whether she had been crying since she ran away. He wished he could have the courage to go and make her understand that it was not his intention to let his father treat her the way he did. It was just that... Ace was astonished when it turned out that Alessandra was a werewolf because he was not expecting it. It took him by surprise.

Everyone inside paused as they turned to the chaos that was happening behind them. Ace rose up and the glass slid open for him to come out. He had not seen Aspen yet. “What the hell is happening here?” His voice boomed with so much powerful aura. Aspen wished that this was still a dream. She did not wait for him to notice her. She stomped forward and slammed a slap on his face. His head swiveled to the side. “Aspen.” He called out, his eyes not believing who he saw before him. “You know me.” She scoffed, tears streaming down her face. “You fucking liar! You lied to me! You ruined me! I told you that I did not want anyone in my heart but you told me that you would be careful with it.”

“Lovebirds! Esther’s got a location. Abandoned asylum, because of *course* it’s creepy.” Ace’s jaw tightened. “We move in ten.” “*We*?” I arched a brow. He gripped my chin, breath hot. “You stay behind me.” “Or what?” I whispered. His thumb traced my lip. “Or I’ll chain you here myself.” --- The asylum loomed, a skeleton of broken windows and shattered pride. Moonlight bled through the cracks as we crept through the rot. Ace’s father sat in the center of the decay, a king on a throne of debris.

“Is that peace, or is it the glow of someone who just turned me down and feels powerful about it?” I stared ahead. “It’s sunscreen.” “Still hot.” I glanced at him sideways. “If you flirt with me in front of my son, I’ll stab you.” “I’ll bring the knife. Make it romantic.” “Do you ever stop?” He grinned, pulling into a quiet road that led toward a secluded area where Ace’s academy was tucked behind tall trees and white buildings. “Only when I’m kissing someone.” “Too bad you won’t find that out today.” Azaic sighed dramatically. “So we’re still doing the enemies-to-lovers arc?”

Archie POV "Yes, I'm that young lord," Ace said without even looking at my widened eyes. "Edward has tried everything he can to get in but failed, all his men were killed so he has no other option than to use you guys as his bargaining chips with me. I should have come back but I'm too occupied, sorry guys" he added looking out through the window. "It's okay, you are already here so..." I said with a sigh, who would have thought that Ace accomplished all that within a year, it's really difficult to believe. And it's quite funny that we have thought about Ace being in Italy but kept on ruling it out.
