I didn’t miss the way his eyes tracked me.
Watching, waiting, and wanting.
Damien chuckled, blissfully unaware. “You two haven’t changed a bit.”
“Some of us have matured,” Rhysand drawled, voice like smoke, slow and curling. His eyes cut to mine, all lazy arrogance and razor edges.
“Right,” I said, flashing a cold smile. “And some of us are still stuck thinking they’re the goddess’s gift to the mortal world.”
Rhysand’s mouth twitched, just barely, but I caught it, and worse…I felt it. In my chest, and in my core. That dangerous pull that never really left.
