Just him. “Aria,” he whispers. “Run.” And then the shadow surges back into him. His head snaps violently upward. He smiles, slow and hungry. “No,” he purrs. “No running.” The vines release their hold around the heartbloom’s pedestal with a snap, shifting, forming a perfect circle around the clearing. She noticed a wolf charging at them coming for Hunter's neck but she used her magic and threw that wolf across the road as he hit the bark and fell grunting.
