Only the Second Best

Only the Second Best

“Why would you say that?” He shrugged. “Because that’s how the world works. A young actress runs away from her wedding at the last minute, then takes off with the man she’s been cheating with for two years? That’s not a drama, Tara. That’s a PR disaster exploding like a bomb on the red carpet.” His voice was so... cruel. But also honest. I stared at him, trying to figure out if he was faking it. But there was no anger there. No heartbreak. Just the calm of a man who had calculated everything three steps ahead.

Good Girl in Action

“Study? Are you serious? Do I have time for that?” “Observe my strike. Which one hurts the most? My left hook, right hook, uppercut, or kicks?” “Everything hurts.” “Will you level up your senses? Or should I do it again?” “No! Your kick hurts the most.” “Then you have to avoid the strike that hurts the most. Don’t give me the chance to do it again. Got it?” I nodded. He positioned his arms and focused on me. We were like those guys in a boxing match.

Alright. I have to say this. That twist got me. I thought the mirror reflection scene was just a plain old-used scenario, but I was surprised (in a good way) that Vad became a totally different person (gender). I find the POV funny. This book is well written and has an interesting opening chapter.

What should I say about this story? It's just awesome. It got a good plot and appears promising. Author has done an awesome job in depicting the emotions portrayed by the characters n fantasy world build up. I usually don't read fantasy genre, but this one caught my eyes. Kudos to the author .........

“THREE! TWO! ONE! ACTION!” Jordan found himself shouting, he hated that he was back to the traditional way of directing becasue these humans won’t learn how to stick to simple instructions. He was having it bad and he needed to deal with it as fast as he could. They were supposed to be close to shooting some of the last scenes but here they were still trying to get the characters comfortable with each other.

Best Man, Best Choice

Best Man, Best Choice

I reached out and pulled him in. He sat stiff as a statue, legs clamped together. I spotted the bruises on his cheek and lip, reached past him, and grabbed the first aid kit. "Let me clean you up." He paused, one brow lifted, then tilted his face up without a word. I dabbed gently at the bruises. Eyes still shut, he asked, "What are you planning to do now?" "Move out. Cut Malcolm off for good." A flicker of a smile touched his lips, but when he caught the tension in my face, he sighed and looked up, serious.

LIGHTS, CAMERA AND ACTION

Jaxx burst out in anger while Max quickly confronted him and tried his best to calm him down, but after a couple of minutes, he immediately walked away and went to his room. I tried my best to calm him down, but unfortunately, he was a fucking hard-headed person. I think we need to leave him alone to rethink his actions and give him some space. " Max said to his fellow teammates, which they all agreed. "You know what, we should make a plan B in case our first plan fails." Eshal suggests, but everyone ignores her as they start to separate. Everyone acts like they are in a normal situation despite the fact that one of them is going to die next Saturday.

Just then, Sydney stormed into the room and saw everything. Her voice rang out sharp and angry as she marched up to me. “Aaron, what the hell do you think you're doing? Is this some kind of workplace bullying now?” I gave her a cold, sarcastic smile. “Workplace bullying? Please. I wouldn’t dare.”

Bait on the Battlefield

Bait on the Battlefield

"Isabella, I heard you learned how to fight in prison. Why don't you give Elena a show? If you can make it lie down obediently, you get a hundred grand tonight." "A hundred grand…" I murmured. I stared at the restless beast. Its eyes were bloodshot, a low growl vibrating deep in its throat. This wasn't entertainment; it was a gladiator match. But I couldn't walk away from that money. I took off my jacket, revealing arms mapped with scars and fresh bandages from the ballistic test earlier that afternoon. "Deal." I had barely taken two steps when the Rottweiler went berserk. It broke free of the leashes and lunged at me with a thunderous roar.

This guy is really testing me. I know for a fact that as a Psychology student, I should learn how to control my temper but I can't seem to hold it when it comes to Maze. It's as if everything he does has a big effect on me and I don't like it. He's pissing me off. And I am Gabriel Solzeek Thornton. I can't lose without a fight. The war has only started. I meed to make sure that I could get even. And I can't help but to smirk while thinking on how exciting this could get.
