Demika chips in a rhetorical question that’s placed somewhere in-between sarcasm and curiosity. It is no news that the Vampyres don’t come out during the day. However, the Adam twins are different—they do come out whenever they wish, only, they decide not to, just to avoid unnecessary familiarity.

“Twins.” He barely looks in their direction “Yeah, don’t worry about them.” From the corner of my eye, I see the twins shift into identical grey-blue wolves. They launch themselves at Adrian, but within a fraction of a second he shifts and a just before they fall on him, his massive claws rip through their chests, leaving large gashes behind. Roman murmured, brushing a finger against the baby’s chubby cheek. “And she’s going to be as bold as her father,” Naomi countered, looking down at their daughter, who held on to her finger while even in her sleep. She thought that the world could barely handle one Justin Adams, just imagine two. “What happened?” He shrugged. “I was eight minutes older than him. I lived. He didn’t.”

“I’ll take back all that belongs to me.” Her gaze terrified Dew, and she took an unwitting step back. The first thing she thought about were the two twins in the Winters family! ‘Does she want to steal them from me?’ “And I’ll make you pay for my children’s deaths!” Adina declared slowly. Each word cut into Dew’s heart like knives, but then she froze. ‘That’s right! The two children are already dead to her! She thinks they died right after being born! ‘So, Adina can’t possibly have come back to steal the twins from me!’

Miles protests, and Bryn forms an X with her arms. “Are you serious?” Dash asks. “Have you ever seen horror movies? Twins are always creepy. There’s that one with the twin ghost girls in the hallway. And then the Tweedle twins, supposed to be a kids’ movie, but those two are creepy as fuck. Why do twins always say the same thing at the same time? Creepy motherfuckers.” Cass would be laughing her ass off right now, probably agreeing. The thought makes me smile.

With my own birthday coming this Thursday, I wondered if the mate-bond would finally click into place. “Looks like it’s just the two of us.” I shook my head, giving Adley a pointed look. Aidan had two little sisters, hyperactive twins with a penchant for trouble. It was amusing watching Adian’s huge form chase after them, giggles erupting from the two curly headed girls. “Those twins are going to drive him nuts.” Adley snickered, setting the menu down and picking at the peeling laminate. “The only thing saving them is their cuteness.”
