A ridiculous romance novel he had picked up out of boredom and then never put down.

"Awwwwn don't get all mushy mushy on me just because I gave you something that is rightfully yours and besides I had fun,been a while I killed somebody, got my adrenaline pumping so yeah thank you for that!" Adrian said ending the call, sighing his call with Adrian just made him realize he didn't need to search for board members,he already had his own team, dialing Matthews number, "What again Nico?!" KIRA’S POV “You bought the bookstore??” I asked, turning to Adrian. “For me??” “I don’t want your clumsy hands messing up my archives in the penthouse,” he said with no emotion whatsoever. I scoffed, “Please. I wouldn’t touch your boring brown books even if I was bored to death. You don’t have to buy a whole bookstore to keep me away.” Adrian leaned lazily on the counter, staring intently at me in amusement. “Said the girl who spent half a million just to get my attention. How am I supposed to trust that now you know about my collection, you won’t attack it on your next rant or tantrum?”

Adrian explained flawlessly. “I see. There’re so many books…” I said admiringly. “I like reading although most of the books here are medical texts and business-related books. So, probably not that interesting for most people…” Adrian explained. “I think business is very interesting. I don’t know about the medical text, though,” I replied with a small laugh.

“It doesn’t work that way, Adrian. You already know so much about me—my past, my weaknesses, my life. The least you can do is offer some kind of information back.” His mouth curved into a faint smirk, and he leaned in, bridging the gap between us. “Fine,” he said softly, his breath warm against my skin, sending a shiver down my spine. “I’m Adrian. I have enough power and resources to get you everything you want—freedom from Callum, security, protection.” His eyes darkened, a flash of heat in his gaze. “But that comes at a price.”
