She was back to life, but she looked weak. She glared at me too, forcing a smile on her face. “Angel,” I whispered under my breath. Tears were already forming in my eyes. I wanted to hold her! “Yeah,” she responded in the same manner, attempting to move, only to be reminded she was chained as well. Ace clapped twice and got our attention back to him. “It's your lucky day today. Just have a chat, talk about anything; secrets, feelings, kiss, I don't really care. All you have is…half an hour! Use it wisely!” He concluded and stormed off.

Sadly, he is peering down at me as if my mere presence offends him. "Uh..." I wet my lips, trying to find words. "Aren't you going to say anything?" The angel blinks at me. She was looking at me with her huge green eyes, brimming with curiosity and intrigue. Suddenly she smiled, showing me all her teeth and I felt my chest throb and my fly tighten. But it didn't last long. As soon as she opened her mouth all the charm ended. "Oh,” sighed the angel. “I thought you were dead, but your chest was moving. That's why I covered your mouth and nose, to see if you would react with that, but you started to move like crazy and I had to let you go, but at least you woke up. By the way, you have a bump behind your right ear about the size of a duck's egg. Does it hurt? It burns? Does it itch? How many fingers do you see? Do you want to throw up? You're dizzy?”

As Angel turned to leave, Chris, still reeling from his vision, reached out and grabbed his hand. “Wait,” Chris’s voice was almost a whisper, desperate, his grip firm. “Please… take off your mask. I need to see the face of the man who saved me.” Angel hesitated, a long sigh escaping his lips. But finally, he reached up and removed the mask slowly, his face emerging from behind its dark shadows. “My name isn’t Angel,” he said quietly. “It’s Aiden. Aiden Gorbachev.”

He took a step. That stunned the Angel of Death. He was just a pile of smoke, so he had no face. But if he did, there'd be a reaction on his face that would make Tador rethink his decision over a billion times over. The Angel of death had no beginning, but his eyebrows were so high up, his eyeballs almost fell out, and his jaws had gone slack. "Eh….?" He mouthed in shock when Tador started taking mini-steps towards his family and then exploded into maniacal laughter.

I don't know if he intentionally flipped his head with that sassiness, but as soon as he faced me again, the slit smile on his lips vanished. "Aside from that, again, I am the Lord in this household. My face is too heavenly to be seen by a mere human species. I don't recommend it." I blinked repeatedly, and even though he offered his hand to help me walk, and even though I accepted it, I still couldn't believe his audacity. Did he just call me a mere human species?

Zane had to smile at her. “Angel, there is nothing bad in you.” “Of course there is. Do you think I would be okay with what you did tonight if I was all good and pure? Do you think I would enjoy the things we do if I didn’t have a streak of bad in me?” she asked. She had a smile on her face which told Zane she enjoyed the idea of being a little bad.

And one right next to him, on his left side. Angel chose the seat next to him. She settled into the chair, arranging her backpack and supplies on the desk with practiced efficiency. Then she turned to him and stretched out her hand, a friendly smile on her face. "Hi," she said brightly. "Let us be friends." Ayven stared at her outstretched hand like it was a snake preparing to strike. He turned his head deliberately away from her and faced Emily instead, completely ignoring Angel's extended hand. "You were saying about the dinosaurs?" Ayven said to Emily, his voice carefully controlled.
