And standing on a platform overlooking the vortex was Alaric. He wasn't wearing his robes. He was naked from the waist up, his body painted in glowing Aether-runes. Cables were plugged into his spine, connecting him directly to the machine. He looked younger. The withered skin was smoothing out. His muscles were swelling with unnatural vitality.
