New Life
It was a moment she never thought she’d have again—a man who made her and Shaina feel cared for without strings attached.
“Spencer,” Shelly said, accepting the flowers. “You’re spoiling her.”
“She deserves it,” he replied with a wink before turning to Shaina. “And so does your mom.”
Shelly felt a blush creep up her cheeks. “You didn’t have to do this.”
“I wanted to,” Spencer said simply, his gaze steady. “And besides, it’s movie night. I thought I’d bring a little something extra.”

Later, after Shaina had fallen asleep mid-movie, Shelly and Spencer sat on the couch, the room bathed in the soft glow of the TV. Shelly’s head rested against Spencer’s shoulder, her fingers absently tracing p
