“Get some rest, Danica.” I closed my eyes just as he walked out of my room. Finally leaving me alone. The next morning brought a mixture of unwanted thoughts. But the biggest one was regret. Regret that I took the bike. Regret that I didn’t try to crash that bike into a tree instead of a car. Regret that I woke from this accident. But I also woke with something else inside my head. Thoughts of him. Mr. Hardin. I wondered what he saw when his dark grey eyes stared back at me.

The morning was bright and the sun was smiling in it's full energy . Mr Brookes snaps his eyes opened , he was welcomed by a terrible ache . He slept on the couch whilst waiting for Sloan but she did not return that night . All his calls he put through to her was unanswered . He wondered why she did not return home , if he was too cold to her or she had a new lover since she prepared divorce and a death certificate for him . Mr Brooke pushes the thought of his wife to the back of his mind , he didn't want to start the day with a bad mood .

Axen looked at me without a speck of emotion on his face and said. "I accept. Our bond is broken with the blessing of the Goddess.' Axen tried and failed to hold back another howl. In the end he let loose a loud heart breaking cry that felt like a dagger to my heart, then fell back hitting the hard Chapel floor with a thud.

By the time I stepped outside the building, King and Giselle were already waiting near the front steps. "You look like you've been through a war," King said the moment he saw me. "I feel like it." I sighed. "Come on. I'll buy you coffee." He chuckled. "I'm broke." King raised an eyebrow. "Since when?" I hesitated for the briefest moment. Since this morning, when Ryan had thrown me out of his car before school and I'd been too embarrassed to admit I barely had enough money left to get through the week. Instead, I shrugged. "I... lost my money." The lie came easier than I wanted it to.
