So of course, I did what most abandoned or orphaned children did, and made up my own story. I had been just about everyone over the years, I had been Charlotte, the betas daughter travelling to see the world. Bethany the abused daughter of an unforgiving man, looking for shelter and compassion. Martha, the baker’s daughter. Judy, the traveller’s wife. Michelle, the starving artist. Opal, the musician. Tracey the writer. Louise the ‘dancer’ and Grace the stylist. But in fact, I was Freya, the abandoned rogue. It didn’t have quite the same air of adventure, did it? then I guess that reality never does.

This is where the second book ends (yay). I’m ending it here because I felt that the storyline was starting to get too long for one book. This means that there’ll be a third book, but (drumroll) it’ll be part 2 of this one. But I’m calling it Mates and Temptations because The Pains of Guilt Part 2 didn’t sound catchy. And as a special little something, I added a bonus chapter after this one and a little blurb about the third book. I don’t have an exact date for when I’ll release book 3 because when it comes to my writing, I hate deadlines (they make me rush things and it affects the quality of my writing). The only reason I had one for this book is that I already had a lot of chapters ready

But my focus was on Agatha. Her laughter echoed, wild and sharp, as she spun her dark magic, her crimson hair flying around her like flames. “You think you can take him back from me?” she shrieked, her hands glowing with sickly green fire. “I’m not taking anything from you!” I snarled, rushing forward. “I’m saving him!” Our powers collided with a thunderous crack. The ground split beneath our feet as we clashed—silver against green, light against darkness. Agatha grinned, her eyes glowing brighter. “Oh, Aurora… still clinging to hope. You really think your love can tame the Shadow Realm’s king? Pathetic!”

Garrett The clearing is exactly as I remembered from my scouting trip yesterday. Secluded, peaceful, with a small stream running along one edge. I've set up blankets, cushions, and most importantly—a stack of books. Iris stops when she sees it, hand flying to her mouth. "You did all this?" Her voice is soft with wonder. "I wanted it to be special." I guide her to the blankets. "And I found something I thought you'd like." I hand her the top book. It's old, leather-bound, with gilt lettering. "Advanced Theories in Shield Construction and Consciousness-Based Magical Architecture."

“So… you know then.” Agatha’s voice was low, but it carried a weight she couldn’t hide. “Yes,” Rhunar answered, steady as ever. Agatha sighed, closing her book slowly, her thumb marking the page. Her shoulders sank as if she had just set down a burden too heavy to keep carrying. “It hasn’t even been twenty-four hours yet. And Fenrik already told someone?” Rhunar’s brows drew together. “Wait. You told Fenrik first?”

The following day, lessons with Mr Frank went on, and the more I learned with him, I also had to read a few books about being a good witch. "Agatha, what are you doing?"... Dad called my name from downstairs. Tonight's the birthday celebration of Zandor and also the start of his rebellion. Mr Frank and a few others in the system have a good plan of murdering him, and in case that doesn't work. I will have to step in and murder him myself.
