There’s gotta be keys—” Angela let out a choked sob. Justine was still there—dragging her roughly by the arm, blade in hand, his expression twisted with fury as he looked sternly around.

Aizhyrra's POV When I was sure no one else was around I pulled out my daggers and threw them in the direction of the agents. In my other hand was my gun that fired the others. When I was sure they were gone I called the other agents to watch over them mama. Later I even saw them around so I just nodded at them. They signaled me to leave, I also told them to pay attention to each other. I went out of the Hospital and looked for my motor, when I found it I immediately rode it and drove quickly to the agency. Even though I knew something bad had happened I still thought that I wish Agent Chrea was still alive so that he could tell me everything.

It almost sounded dead, all thanks to smoking. “Sir, we have got news from one of our agents that Ms Paulose was seen in…” the officer continued informing him while he almost fell numb for that part. His ears worked, listening to the man carefully but his body was as if could not feel anything, not even the air passing through his skin, the breath passing through his nostrils, filling and emptying his lungs. He was lost and then he was satisfied because he got to know her location. “Okay.” He disconnected the line and immediately got up from the floor. He marched to his cupboard and pulled out a jacket, putting it on his shoulders and then leaving his room with a mobile.

He stood straight and gave me a cold stare. He looked me over from head to toe before putting his hand in his pocket. "Are you an agent?" he asked. I couldn't stop laughing because of his question. “Take a seat, Agent Gomez.” He accepted the offered seat to him, and the meeting commenced. He listened quietly to the updates for the recently completed missions. The usual disposal, investigation, or interrogation missions. There was nothing unusual with the missions, and they were all cleanly completed. But his eyes were glued on the agent profiles on the top right of each mission, his eyes often catching a familiar face. She was either participating in or leading almost every big shot mission. She stood abruptly, pacing the room like a predator circling its prey. "You’ve always been so stubborn," she muttered. "It’s infuriating. But no matter. I’ve already made arrangements." I twisted against my restraints, trying to think of a way out, but my mind was clouded with panic. "Arrangements? What kind of arrangements?" Agatha paused, turning to me with a wicked grin. "Oh, you’ll see soon enough. Let’s just say you won’t be missed for long." The door burst open, and two men walked in—both burly, with faces that screamed hired muscle. They nodded at Agatha, who waved a hand dismissively.

Once the autogolems were on board and tied to the storage rooms. The squad all lined up in a parade formation, ready to receive the Captain and the Lieutenant. Aster was, surprised. And somewhat annoyed at the sudden display of formal decorum. These were people not autogolems, but they stuck to the rigid rules of military protocol and their own to the letter. If not for her brother’s experiences assuring her that they were excellent soldiers, she would have dismissed them as pompous idiots.

Agent Hernandez whispered to Amy as if he was a doctor. “I was inside a game,” Amy uttered her question through her weak voice, trying to remember. She stared at Agent Hernandez with some light returning to her. “I remember you. You’re my colleague and you’re not human. I make fun of you, calling you my little Astro Boy.” Amy smiled a little as she ran her slender fingers across Agent Hernandez’s chin.

The next moment, the back of the chair sprouted dozens of tendril-like appendages that burrowed deep into my skull. Then, darkness enveloped me. I had no sense of how much time passed before I saw my own corpse. And my consciousness—my true awareness—was somewhere else, in another space. Beside me floated a formless mass, impossible to define, yet I knew instinctively: it was the AI. So that was it! I should have realized sooner.
