Eli finishes his kid’s meal quickly, like he hasn’t eaten all day, then curls up on the couch beside his mom and falls asleep almost right away. He doesn’t notice the tension. He doesn’t feel it pressing in from all sides. I’m glad for that. The rest of us eat slower. No one is really focused on the food. I nudge Caleb to move so I have more space, then I make sure to let him hear how good everything tastes. I go on about it, dragging it out a little, trying to get a reaction. He barely touches his plain burger. He keeps picking at it like he’s forcing himself. He looks like he feels bad for eating it at all.

"Same here, babes 😘" "Have you had lunch?" He asked her. "Not yet." "Why?" "I can contact Simeon to deliver food to you!" "Thanks but there's no need. I have my lunch with me. Lost track of time but I'll eat when I'm done texting you!" "Good to know! I don't want you starving." Mia smiled. "What about you? You've had lunch already?" It took about a minute before Colton replied. "No. I'm in a meeting. Besides, I'm not used to having lunch so it's all good."

Drake mutters while staring at the floor, his brows furrowing in contemplation. Dory nods. “Yeah. I think he’s not eating properly too. His meals are left untouched.” My brows shoot up. Elijah is skipping his meals?!

But he blows her a kiss and she blushes even more red. “You know what? Let's eat before I lose what's left of my appetite.” I mumble, handing everyone a plate each, when I offer Aurora one she shakes her head. “I'm not hungry.” she nearly whispers, shuffling in her seat. Caelum turns to me and I shake my head, she hasn't eaten anything but a few apple slices since yesterday afternoon. His gaze drifts from Aurora then back to me again, I understand his unspoken question but I don't know how to answer it so I shrug.

Maxsuel teased, eyeing the bags. “Oh, this?” Yeah, it was definitely way too much food for one person. “I haven’t eaten in a while—I’m starving.” “Don’t be shy! Sit down, start eating here while we catch up,” Jonathan insisted. “Bet you’ve got a lot to tell us.”

When he saw her, he spoke first, "Is there any food at home?" Hazel glanced at him. "You haven't eaten yet?" Did he eat and get hungry again? Or...was he just looking for something to do? "No," Jack answered concisely. Hazel immediately frowned. It was already past ten o'clock, and he still hadn't eaten? She didn't know what he was busy with! She didn't want to pay attention to him at first, but seeing his slightly pale complexion, she couldn't bring herself to be too harsh. "We didn't buy any groceries, we only have noodles. Is that okay?"

Julia nudged at her. “I just hope I can go.” Ellie said pouting. Julia stomach growled loudly. Elsa's and Ellie's eyes scanned her. She cleared her throat. “I have not eaten since morning is you can't blame me.” She said and hurriedly stood to get food. They both chuckled at her.

She moved from the island to stand before me, "You're white. Are you sick?" She peered down at my face, reached out, and lightly touched my sweaty forehead. I shook my head, "Just hungry." My shoulders slumped forward. I hadn't eaten anything since I arrived here, the fruits I had while making the Luna's smoothie didn't count. My stomach growled in ways it never did. "Here we eat once. And that's by three p.m.," she spoke quietly, the smiles on her face faded, "If you don't finish your afternoon task in time for the meal then you will have to wait until the next day."

Mia announced suddenly, though her plate was still full. "Mine too," Leo chimed in quickly. "And mine!" "Me too!" Eva hid a smile at their transparent attempt to escape the tension. "Nice try, darlings. Eat your vegetables." "But Uncle Josh hasn't touched his food either," Sam pointed out innocently. All eyes turned to Josh's untouched plate. He shifted uncomfortably under the scrutiny. "Not hungry," he muttered. "You haven't been hungry for days," Sara said quietly. "Not since..." "Don't." His voice came sharp enough to make the children jump.

Ken looked around, considered himself for a moment, then reluctantly raised his head and said to Peter, "Let's go get someone to get the ladder, Peter up there obediently don't move." Ken can easily go up, then easily climb down, the problem is….how is Peter's round figure going down? Peter butcher Peter rubbed his stomach, pouting, "It's fine if mom is here, Peter won't be hungry." Jenny sat next to Daniel, holding her chopsticks for a moment, pausing. Daniel turned his head to look at her, "Why don't you eat?" Didn't you just say you're hungry? "Peter definitely hasn't eaten yet."
