ALPHA vs LUNA Chapter 2 Octavia jolts back to life, her chest heaving in a rapid motion, she wipes the sweat from her face before turning to the dark sky, the moon and her sisters dancing in them joyously. She turns to her room, her eyes scanning the surroundings for anything that could burn; for fire. But there was nothing. She turns to her side to see a bare man laying beside her, snoring soundly. She heaves a very sigh as she placed her hand on her chest, she was off jewelry except for a precious ring she wore on her fourth finger.

"Something's out there. We're not alone." Amelia's shapeshifter instincts kicked in. Her eyes tightened as she said, "Stay close, both of you. There's a shadow looming." Just then, a pair of bright eyes emerged from the darkness, followed by others, until a circle of wicked eyes encompassed them. The aliens emerged into the moonlight, showing themselves to be a flock of otherworldly beings unlike anything they had ever seen. "Who are you?" Gabriel demanded. The leader of this unusual pack, a beast with teeth and claws that defied description, smirked maliciously. "We are the Guardians of the Abyss, and we have been watching."

“Let me show you.” I stepped toward the panel beside the dome and tapped a hidden sequence. The starlit sky above us shimmered, pixel by pixel, dissolving into something so surreal. The stars twisted red. The clouds turned sapphire. Above us, an alien storm began to swirl—, beautiful and surreal. “WASP-121b,” I said. “Tylos, as they call it. Is a gas giant so close to its star, its atmosphere boils and bleeds precious minerals.” She turned toward me slowly, eyes narrowing with intrigue.

Ian's POV "Alpha Ian, we've searched this whole area. There's nothing here!" "Same here, Alpha Ian!" "We've been combing this valley for two days straight. There's nothing here but a few scattered stalks of wolfsbane." "Alpha, could the report have been fake? The emergency affairs department rarely verifies these things before sending them through. Are we sure someone didn't set us up?" Landon shot a murderous glare at the guard who spoke before turning his gaze back to me, not saying a single word.

"Between dimensions. A tear in the fabric of reality itself." Dad Ross leaned forward. "What is coming through it?" "Creatures that do not belong in our world." Kai's analytical mind took over. "They are not good or evil. They are aliens. Incomprehensible. Their very existence here corrupts everything around them." Luna's hand found mine. "We saw cities crumbling just from their presence. People are going mad. The ground itself is turning to something else. Something wrong." "If the tear widens completely it will consume our entire world," I finished. The weight of those words settled over everyone like a shroud.

The oddest figure she had ever seen caused her to stop moving. Izabella appeared startled and focused her attention on the stranger—a masculine humanoid-like creature with green skin and protruding fangs that resembled those of a big werewolf—who stood at least six feet tall and had flashing predator's eyes. The body of the alien is covered in pure muscle. He may have noticed Izabella watching him and turned to see where she was. She caught her breath after their extended gaze matched. His eyes were so golden that she was overcome with exhaustion. The extraterrestrial figure was positioned near the tree's corner. He was looking at her while observing the surroundings around the pool.

“It’s been a problem to solve that just has no easy solution. We might have to just leave them and then heal as many as we can.” “Worldwide?” Kendra said with dismay. Olga’s brows knit together and she scowled. She’d had her feet resting on the porch railing, but took them down and placed them flat on the floor so that she could lean forward in her chair and twist her body to allow her to look directly at her niece. “I treasure the fact that you have such compassion for these unfortunates, but we have to be realistic. In order to eliminate the aliens, humans will die. Not all, but some. We’ll do whatever we can to keep the numbers small, but there will be numbers. It’s inevitable.”

I just narrowed my eyes at him. “Eda,” Cygnus began, “like I said. Aliens are real. And we are among them. But we don’t call ourselves that—that’s just a human-made term. Earth has humans. We are the Tarragon species from Planet Szol. We’re very far from your planet, many, many lightyears away. Right now, we’re on a spacecraft, returning to the main Tarragon mothership, which is currently hidden far from human detection. We’ll arrive there in eight hours.”

The sky over Lagos had turned wrong. Not stormy. Not cloudy. Wrong. Massive alien vessels hovered in perfect formation above the city, silent, sleek, obsidian hulls reflecting the sunrise in fractured blue patterns. They weren't ships in the traditional sense. They pulsed living things of metal and flesh, tentacles of energy crackling between them like neural synapses. The hybrid signal had done its work. The invasion wasn't coming. It had already arrived.

He rubs his face slowly, pacing in a small circle on the smooth glass floor of the chamber. “Okay,” he says after a moment, “I just want to confirm something before I panic properly.” The Custodian watches him silently. “You’re saying there is a civilization eating monster six light years away from Earth.” Yes. “And it destroys intelligent species.” Correct. “And somehow we are now on its radar because aliens turned Aidan’s brain into a cosmic signal tower.” The stars inside the Custodian’s body shimmer faintly. That is an accurate summary. Matteo nods slowly. “Good. Just making sure I understood the nightmare correctly.”
