We climbed the stairs, passing the place where Alice had fallen. Empty. Angelica stopped, eyes narrowing, fury igniting in her gaze. “Where is she?” she hissed. Inhaling the air through my nose, I smelt the filthy smell of her vermin mate. “They have her,” I said calmly. “Don’t worry, my love. I will get you everything you want… and more.” Angelica whirled toward me, eyes alight with hunger. “You’d better,” she snapped. Then, after staring wordlessly at Angelina for a while, she finally passed the sketchbook to her stepmother. With a big smile on her face, Angelina opened the book, taking some time to admire the perfect replication of the same garden they were seated in once again and profoundly praise Isabella in an awed tone before flipping to the next page. And that was when her smile faltered a bit because on that page, was a drawing of a vaguely familiar woman's face but with the body structure of a devil. He opened his cell door and saw the human huddled up under his blankets, sleeping. He went to a corner of the room and emptied his stash in a corner. He then sat down on the bare floor turning his back to the items. He brought out the pen and paper, smoothing the folded piece over one thick thigh, he started to write to the White wolf, hoping to find an ally in the cousin he never met. And hoping his gut feeling was correct and that his cousin would come for him. He made the letter short and somewhat coded, in case his plans didn't work out. He placed her on the floor and tore away the white cloth that covered the drawing board. On the paper clipped to the drawing board was a sketch of a man without a face. The man wore a white T-shirt and had long, flowing black hair. On his slender fingers was a four-leaf clover ring. He could see that the subject of the drawing was a younger version of him, even though there were no facial features. The drawing was lifelike. The artist must have been a master. What made him even more surprised was that the drawing was clearly done in Angeline's style.
