Aiden said taking a different route towards the ground floor where a lot of Elders are. He knocked on a door several times and got no reply, he then pushed it open. “Al, are you in there?” I asked as we stepped into the room. “You're already in, Alpha.” Alice said with a croaky voice and blood shot eyes. Her usual sweet demeanour has gone completely cold. “I'm so sorry for your loss.” I said pushing close to her and kneeling by the bed she was lying on. She turned her gaze in my direction and said, “You shouldn't be, it's not your fault.”

From the shots of the parking lot, a large crowd was arriving to hear Tony’s words from themselves. I wondered how many of Tony’s fans were there. Would they accept his words, if he chose to back Julian? Would they be willing to try to unify under Julian as Alpha? It was difficult to tell simply from panned shots over the crowd. “Mommy!” Alice shouted suddenly. I nearly jumped off the couch at the alarm in her voice. “What is it, Alice?” “There!” she pointed at the screen, but I saw too late what she was pointing to. The camera had already panned away. Soon, it came back though. “There!” she said again, pointing once more. “It’s her!”

She asked surprising Kia who fought hard to control his urge to laugh as he kept staring at her in astonishment. "Yes Alicia we're dead" He replied, he couldn't help teasing her. "So this is heaven?" She asked again and Kia was about replying when the door opened revealing Maddie who walked gracefully into the room. "You're awake Alicia!" Maddie squealed, walking towards the startled Alicia on the bed. "Maddison? What are you doing here?" Alicia asked before realization finally dawned on her. "Don't tell me you're also dead" She muttered, tears rolling down her cheeks while Maddie just stared at her unbelievably.

“I was the one who ordered the cremation. You do not deserve to see her one last time. You do not deserve to keep what remains of her. The bond is over. She is free of you now.” Cassian caught the edge of his coat at once. “Please.” His voice was wrecked. “Please don’t take her away. I never treated Lyra as anything less. I loved her. I always loved her. Even when I failed her, I loved her.” The old alpha gave a humorless laugh. “Loved her?” He took Lyra’s phone from his sleeve and threw it down in front of Cassian. His attitude changed though once he found out ice cream was involved. We could have driven but the air felt cool and inviting so we decided to walk to the ice-cream parlor. We ordered and sat at a picnic table. “Guessing dad filled you in. I’m sorry it sucks for all of us but especially you.” Jason said breaking the silence. I could tell he was serious and he felt bad for me. “Not as bad as dad. Either way he loses. He either dies or our Alpha dies. Then what?” I shake my head at the clusterf*ck this had become.

I pulled her against me, kissing the top of her head. Beth cleared her throat. “There’s more. The message included coordinates. He’s already in the country. And he’s not coming alone.” The room fell silent. I looked at Sage — my fierce, stubborn, perfect little bird. Alice was dead. But the war wasn’t over. It had only evolved. I tightened my arms around her. “Let him come,” I said darkly. “He’ll learn the same lesson Alice did.” Sage smiled up at me, dangerous and full of love.

~Serena~ Crimson liquid swirled towards the drain, a contrast to the pearl white shower floor at Spade’s apartment. I don’t know how I got here, but I know where I’ve been. Alister is dead, for real now, and he can’t come back from the dead anymore, but the bastard didn’t leave without ripping my heart into pieces. My daughter is alive. Was it really just a plot? Alister would spit out any lies just to save his skin.

The priest steps back looking shocked. "Alice, you're clearly having some kind of breakdown," Lucas says smoothly. He lets go of Elara's hand. "Someone call security. Get her out of here."
