I gushed at Alaia, who is now slumped at the sofa, her face pale, her eyes drooping. “Uhuh.” Alaia replies thickly, her speech blurred, her head resting at the back of the sofa. “You look tired, sis.” I blinked, as if suddenly realizing the state that Alaia was in. Quickly I stepped away from the mirror and poured her a drink from the jug on the table. She was focused on Bran who was staring at her through half-opened eyes, reciting the anti-mortality spell in her head. When she'd gotten it, she stretched her hands, magic swirling around them and recited the spell in her mind, watching as wisps of her powers swirled all around Bran, building, building and building, until it turned into one bright light and exploded on top of him. Her heart leapt when his eyes flared open, happy that the spell had worked. But then suddenly, his lids slid shut, head lolling to the side and she watched in horror as his breaths slowed to a stop.

I concentrated on healing that person… Too bad that I wouldn't be able to see the results of my freshly discovered magic. "What if the spell doesn't work…? What if that guy's pain gets worse?!" I started imagining every possible gloomy outcome. Then I thought about… using the magic on myself. "What if I could create the herbs and use them as sedatives? I could find out if my spell could actually work, and cool down at the same time!" I decided it would be a perfect solution. I got out of the bedroom and went back to the shop. Then I took out some lemon balm leaves, placed them in my hands and concentrated on taking all the anxieties away. The herbs started to glow, just like before.

A loud shrieking sound came from the beast. If he wasn't angry before, he sure was now! Think Hazel, THINK! But what the fuck could I do? I was just a girl, a stupid girl waving a stick at a nightmarish beast. What could a stick do? Suddenly an idea popped into my mind. I lifted the stick higher and made sure it was directly pointed at the beast. "EXPELLIARMUS!" I shouted. But nothing happened. FUCK! This spell always worked for Harry Potter - most of the times.
