SEVEN YEARS LATER. The guards stationed at the grand double doors bow their heads and open them, stepping aside as Zaid prowls into the room, his presence as commanding as his title. The low murmur of voices ceases instantly, and everyone present angles their necks in submission, acknowledging their Alpha. Without breaking stride, Zaid waves for Khal, his Beta, to continue. Khal, unflinching, nods and returns his gaze to the large map splayed out on the table, various areas marked with colored pins that indicate recent alliances and ongoing strategies.

Cana senses my nervousness and sends soothing waves of calm through our bond. "Alpha Jonas Whitepaw, soon to be Bloodclaw," he says, his voice steady despite the drumming in my chest, "will you do me the honor of becoming my true mate?" His brother was involved, yet he gave a fair judgement. There was no way for a beta to win against an alpha because of the powers vested in the title. Blaze was already breathing the air of victory as he said to Steel, “I’ll see you on the field tomorrow. Thanks for dinner.”

The world was changing again. POV: Delph The morning mist curled over the training yard. The air smelled of dew and iron. Delph knelt before his children, holding out his hand. “Breathe in,” he said. “Don’t force it. Feel the air move through you. Power follows calm.” The twins mimicked his stance, small hands trembling as light shimmered faintly around their palms. “Alpha isn’t about dominance,” Delph told them. “It’s balance. Strength that listens.”

She stood straight and her ears perked up. Albus emerged from the clearing. Rewa prepared herself for the attack. She was about to lunge but Vivian stopped her saying *He doesn’t look like he is here to attack, Rewa… Lets us wait for a few moments before attacking.* Rewa nodded her head but didn’t relax her stance. Albus kneeled in front of her, placed his right hand on his chest, and bowed, “Alpha, I am your Beta, Albus.” *Has he hit his head or something? Why is he addressing us as Alpha? I thought Alphas were only males.* Vivian said bewildered by his address.

“So, to go in to detail, the Alpha is the leader of the pack and his right-hand man is his Beta. His Beta’s duties include helping in battle and prisoner questioning. The Beta is also the one who promotes warriors and trains them or delegates those task to Head Warriors.” Bailey spoke. I nod my head in understanding as I feel Sophia scoot closer to me on the couch and grab my hand excitedly.

I’m blinded by the flash backs of being forced onto the desk by the beta, being held there by both the beta and delta as Alpha Redmen reigns his terror down on me. Everyone comments about how it’s just a belt. How can you be so terrified of a belt? I have never told my story to anyone. The beta announced. The crowning ceremony was taking place and the Knights came on the stage. Their stance was powerful and they oozed power. The beta came beside them, carrying a royal knife by which the knights have to cut their palm and take the oath. After that, they will be crowned as the Alphas of their pack officially.

Ella ordered while grinning. "Every Alpha has a Beta. A Beta is his second in command. They are loyal to their Alphas'," Blaze said. "If the Alpha is away for pack business, they are the one that protects that pack. Caleb is my Beta," he explained cleanly. "Wow! Really?" Ella said. She was surprised to know Caleb was Blaze's Beta. Blaze couldn't help but be annoyed by Ella's reaction and growled. She stared at him with her eyes.

I opened my palm to my side, and Liam placed a scalpel on it. “Pledge yourself to the pack and me,” I told her. The determination glint in her eyes turned into confusion once again as she saw the supposedly Alpha bending down to do what the supposedly Beta wanted. But she must be desperate to belong to a pack as she pledged herself once again, “I, Aleena Bell, formerly of the Black Heart Pack, pledged my loyalty to the Crimson Blood Pack and its Beta..” “Alpha..
