Alpha Damon suddenly said. The pain I felt was instant. I felt like my heart was being pierced by a thousand needles. In my pain, I saw Alpha Damon and Damien exchange glances and I prepared myself for what was coming next. "I'm sorry Lyra but I have to do this. I Alpha Damian, reject you Lyra as my mate." Alpha Damian said and I gasped in pain. It was too much to bear, I could barely breathe. The pain was doubled and I clutched my shirt as the tears spilled out of my eyes in torrents.

“She ruined him.” I felt a chill run down my spine. I had expected to hear that maybe he had been betrayed by a mate or lost someone in battle. But his mother? “What happened?” I asked, my voice quieter now. The doctor picked up a small wooden stool and sat down, folding his hands together. “Damon’s mother was not a good woman. She was mated to his father, the previous Alpha. To the pack, they looked like a strong couple, a perfect Alpha and Luna. But behind closed doors, it was different.”

I turned toward him, wondering how long he had been standing there, listening. Chris showed no sign of anger. He only grinned and replied, “Never say never.” Alpha Damon stopped beside me. He didn’t even glance in my direction as he declared confidently, “She is my wife, and though she may also be your mate, I have no intention of sharing her with you.” Chris looked at him and shot back, “What if you were forced to choose between her and Tracy? Who would you pick—her, or your childhood sweetheart?” It was the second time I had seen Alpha Damon lose his composure in front of him.

Gasps rippled through the crowd. The bond hummed—alive, electric, beautiful. My knees nearly gave out. Him. Damon stared at the thread. Then at me. His face didn’t change. Valentina’s grip on his arm tightened. The drums stopped. Silence. Damon raised his hand. “I, Damon Blackthorn, future Alpha of Silver Moon Pack…” His voice was steady. Cold. “…reject you, Elara Voss, as my fated mate and future Luna.” The thread flickered.

She sat down opposite me. “That is not the question, you want me to answer Alpha,” she said. I cleared my throat, cause I almost roared at her to answer my question, my father used to warn me not to use my alpha power on moon eyes. I stare at the crazy woman, wishing I can let her submit to me. “Do you believe in a second chance mate?” I asked her. “You have met your new mate Alpha,” she said. I stared hard at her hoping she would just answer my question.

Unfortunately, King Fenris has taken advantage of your trust and kindness, betraying you,’ Damon says, opening his arms for me to embrace. I run into his arms and burst into tears against his chest. His arms wrap around me tightly, and he lifts me off the ground. We both hold each other and cry. Our tears start to settle, and we gaze into each other's eyes. ‘Alpha King Damon of Moon Crest Valley, I accept you as my mate, Alpha and King, and to be your Luna. I love you, Damon of Moon Crest Valley.’ Damon's eyes sparkle at my words. ‘I love you too, and I accept you as my mate, Luna and Queen of Moon Crest Valley.’ He says as tears roll down his cheek.

We had already started creating a device that could fly! I smiled, realizing that if the me from some years ago could see me now, she would be really excited. I had achieved everything she ever wanted, and was the mother of the Alpha of the next generation. “I’m really happy about how things turned out,” Damon said and kissed the side of my neck again. “Especially the fact that we still ended up together. I thought I had lost you forever.” I smiled and leaned closer to him. “Me too, Damon, me too.”

Having agreed on a truce they tried to catch their breath still wrapped up around each other, Adom head resting on Ash’ chest, their hands bearing the rings, intertwined. “I love you so much.” The Alpha said looking up at him. “I love you too my Alpha. More than anything.” Daylight streaming from the open curtains woke Ash up the next morning. He blinked sleepily and turned away from it closing his eyes again, and reaching out to hug, Adom but his arms came up empty, finding only the cold sheets beside him. His eyes shot open as anxiety kicked in. 'Could it have been a dream? All of it; Adom, the kid, the ring?'

The one he never found until now, the moment when I was finally chosen to be his Luna. I can't even explain how much excitement and happiness I felt when I was chosen to be his Luna. It felt like a dream come true to realize that Alpha Julian was finally going to be mine. I knew I could never find my mate because people like me don’t get mates and I was so happy. But that never happened. This is why I'm in this muddled-up situation that could cost me my life if he ever finds out.
