“Your guys are just kids compared to what I can be!” the brunette said, looking at him with a firm, confident gaze. “Damn, your combat techniques were once taught by us!” The girl broke off, closing her eyes as if gathering herself. “I just have to be there,” the oracle said quietly, exhausted but determined.
“All right, get ready,” the Alpha ordered, and Lena quickly headed toward the house.
A wave of anxiety rose in my chest. I didn’t like any of this. The Alpha was tense but didn’t show it outwardly. And the crowd seemed oblivious, happily enjoying themselves, hosting barbecues and silly contests.
