He was busy trying to fish out the information about werewolves from the books there. But he hasn't come across the right one yet. The next book in his hand also had nothing about werewolves information. He tosses that aside and takes a different one.

He found it hilarious that I was into werewolf romance novels. “So you have a thing for hot werewolf alphas?” He chuckled. “You know some of those stories are stupid, don’t you? Especially that one. What’s it called? Yeah, The Alpha’s Destiny. Werewolves don’t have powers nor do they live until they’re ten thousand. That author must be on some crack.” He shook his head. “Well, it’s better than the zombie comics you have stashed under your bed,” I retorted. “If you don’t stop making fun of my reading materials, I will show Valko your nerd stash,” I warned.

I settled into a quiet corner, hoping to lose myself in the story. The book started like any other werewolf novel, talking about full moons and shifting. But then, I turned the page and my breath caught. There was a picture. Not the usual handsome man turning into a wolf, this was different. This wolf was massive with glowing red eyes and thick, dark fur. The caption underneath read, “Cursed Alphas.” It looked… powerful. Intimidating.

I flipped the second page open and began reading. “After finding his mate and claiming her as his, the alpha moved to make it known under the crimson moon.” Though I had a foggy mind while reading the first sentence, my mind put the words together to make sense. This was a werewolf lore book just like the ones I’ve devoted myself to reading in the last week, but unlike those, this was a children’s book. I snapped it shut, got up, and hurried away from Zion’s room. I entered mine, went through the three books I had gotten from the store, and set them down on the bed.

We’re also a significant size, currently expanding with over 5,000 wolves," I admitted, my heightened senses picking up on the scent of her anxiety.
