CHAPTER 8 Clara's POV “Spencer.. Anthony?” I repeated the name. How does Alisha know him? My eyes snapped up to Alisha's, a mix of surprise and curiosity etched on my face. Alisha's expression was calm, but I detected a little curiosity in her eyes. “He came here looking for you earlier today.” She said, “He said he was a business partner of yours.” My brows creased tightly together. Alisha seemed to read my mind. “You barely associated with other guys, Clara, because of Derrick, so it's quite the shocker.”

“Well, I hope not. Because she'll be taking my fiancé away from me too. But we both have eyes. It's just a matter of time until—-” “What do you want from me, Claire?” Harrison cut her off. “If you have an issue, talk to Alyssa instead.” “Oh, no. I don't want to ruin the little relationship we've managed to create.” Harrison furrowed his brows. The statement confused him. “What relationship?” “You don't know?” She scoffed. “I guess she doesn't tell you everything these days. We're working together to expose her parents.” Harrison remained silent. His eyes darted everywhere, trying to make sense of what he had just heard.

Her mom would never really let go of it! In her mind, Alisha prayed. Calling out to all the gods and goddesses she knew, she prayed that Kristoff explained everything clearly. With no lies mixed in or trying to grab this opportunity to tie her down to him. “He explained that the two of you aren’t really engaged or in any relationship.” Her mom said. Clara went into her unit and was pondering over what she saw in the Office. She never knew that Ashley had a very young man that was a billionaire as her man and she never mentioned such a thing to Clara. No wonder she carried that pregnancy without thinking of removing it. Clara felt bad for the way she had treated her in the past. If she had been very nice to her she would have really gained a lot, especially knowing fully well that she was in a relationship with a billionaire.

“If I were you, I'd ask him about Paris. Men like Michael don't change overnight. I'm sure he still craves what he left back there.” I stayed silent. Just long enough for her to think she'd won.
