Amaya’s voice shook but never faltered. “I used to think love had to be careful,” Amaya said softly, her voice trembling as she met my eyes. “Something quiet, something safe. Amaya blinked rapidly and shook her head, trying to compose herself. Why was she even paying attention to this? Why did it matter that Tiana was getting close to him? “Amaya,” Zara said, pulling her back to reality. “You okay?” “Yeah,” Amaya replied too quickly. “I’m fine. Why?” Zara gave her a curious look. “You’re staring.” Amaya’s cheeks warmed, and she looked away sharply. “I wasn’t. I was just… observing.” “Observing,” Zara repeated with a little laugh. “Right. Sure.”

Third POV. “No, we aren’t leaving,” Amaya said as she shook her head. They looked at her in confusion as they did not understand her or why she was saying that. “Why? I thought that you hated Aiden. You can use this opportunity to get you and Leila out of here and out of his life,” Marcus asked with a frown on his face as he was confused. “Even if I can, I won’t. Leila loves him so much as the wolf in us. I can’t hurt them as I will be hurting myself too,” Amaya said, making them remain silent as they understood her.
