Frantic, Mom yelled at the housekeeper, Harriet Browning, "Drag Arlene out of the basement. Make sure to wash her properly so that she doesn't dirty Callie's dress." Harriet scurried off obediently, and I drifted after her into the basement. She covered her nose and nudged the stiff body on the floor. "Ms. Arlene, stop sleeping. Ms. Callie is waiting." The body didn't move an inch. Harriet impatiently gave a hard tug. With a dull thud, the corpse rolled over. The face was bruised and blackened, the pupils clouded and fixed, staring straight up at the ceiling. Harriet let out a terrified scream and fell on her backside.

Stephen leaped on him, taking him down with him. "Steph". Ace called him but it was late. Callum saw his eyes flashing yellow. A bright yellow. Pupils dilated. Stephen had Adam's neck exposed as his fangs elongated and the last thing Callum saw was those fangs sinking in the crook of Adam's neck and then he lost his consciousness. It was too much for him. "Tsk tsk tsk. You let your wolf overpower you". Zol said unamused. Though they didn’t put any charge on Stephen for killing Adam, because they knew Adam had few things on his hands to be taken care of. But they were kind of disappointed.

Now I knew he'd been bleeding me dry for Riley Anderson, his childhood sweetheart. "I want to refinance the house, too," he added. I stopped what I was doing, my hands frozen in the sink, and turned to stare straight at him. "You really want your four three-year-old sons to end up homeless?" This house wasn't much, just a small three-bedroom, but it was ours—the one we'd fought for, saved for, and sacrificed for. The mortgage wasn't even close to being paid off. His name was on the deed because when we first bought it, I had been out of town on business. He'd told me it would be easier that way, with him making the payments.

I hurried over and tapped the man. "Hey, are you okay?" My hand touched his back, and I froze. A chill ran through me. I turned him over. Every muscle in me locked up. It was the guy from 603. He had multiple stab wounds to the chest, blood soaking his clothes and the mattress beneath him. I nearly collapsed to the floor. What the hell was going on? "Are you out of your fucking mind?" A furious shout rang out from downstairs. It was Jacob. Worried he might run into the killer somewhere in the building, I pushed open the stairwell door and hurried downstairs. In the darkness, my foot struck something, and I nearly tumbled down the stairs.

"Did you think of Grace when you were in bed with me? When you were complaining about her being dull, did you have any love for her in your heart? "Lucas, face it. Grace doesn't want you anymore!" Lucas seemed unable to face his own disgrace. He snapped, trying to strangle Amy. "This is all because of you! You took the ruby necklace I bought for Grace! You moved into this neighborhood just to destroy our relationship!" If the werewolf police hadn't arrived in time, Amy would've died at his hands. The officers looked at Lucas—the once-respected Beta of the pack—now a werewolf consumed by madness. Their expressions were filled with a mixture of contempt and pity.

Freya’s P.O.V Poking my head into Thorne’s room, I gently shut the door behind me, heaving an exasperated sigh while leaning against the door frame. At that moment, my mind slowly replayed the conversation that I mistakenly eavesdropped on. Sadly, Chef Charlotte was gruesomely murdered and the Alpha of the pack she belonged to, Alpha Hunter, came to confront Thorne, accusing him of murdering a member of his pack.

My hand dropped from my ear as I sprinted into the haunted house with just one thought in mind - Elsa. The tall windows allowed sunlight to enter the house in contrast to the heavy gray and shades of black that adorned the immense house. I wondered if it was haunted. And then here he was, standing in the door frame as if waiting for us. With his arms crossed, his perfect hair, his mesmerizing, hypnotic eyes, in all his splendor, Alexei, the mafia werewolf. Were all werewolves so attractive? God Teresa, control yourself! Only now was the fun beginning!

" Ignoring Arnold's icy stare, Alice shrugged her shoulders in response. "Are those not also in agreement? This house belongs to me. You see that, don't you? Are you aware of who I am? When Alice persisted in misinterpreting him, Arnold let out a freezing-hot, frustrated scream. His gaze tightened as he clenched his fists and moved toward the bed, causing Alice, who was still astonished, to recoil in terror. "This large mansion is yours? You are who you are? Kindly provide an explanation. Alice pleaded, wondering if she had fallen into the hands of a vampire prince or perhaps a mafia ruler, as she had read about in books.

Axton warned as he lunged towards me. "Bring it on," I dared, a fierce determination in my eyes. Axton, ever the goofball, ran around the pack house, the moon shining down on us as he tackled me to the ground, laughing. Breathless and sweaty, we make our way inside. But our fun was short-lived as we made our way back inside the pack house. As soon as we stepped through the door, Cara glared at us. "How long will you allow this murderer to live in my house?" she demanded, her words like daggers. "I don't trust her."
