He looks like he’s trying to breathe through his mouth and not his nose, leaving me to assume he finds the scent off-putting, too. Tasha nods. “It’s not exactly the same, but it’s similar enough that whatever they’re from are definitely the same species if not the same…things.” She says “things” in a tone that projects both disgust and bewilderment. “Alpha!” I hear Channing call as he approaches with Blake and Serafina. It takes just a moment before I realize he’s carrying a human over his shoulder in a fireman’s carry. “Who do you have there, Channing?” I ask, feeling my mouth go dry and the sensation of my stomach dropping, fearing the answer.

But I take another step forward. I get closer to the stone bowl and look straight at its bottom. My eyes open wide. At the bottom, there is a hole the size of a human eye, and somewhere down there, something red and thick is flowing, shifting like liquid fire. Heat emerges from the hole and hits me in the face. Lava? I let out a small cry and took a sharp step back. A chilling roar is heard, like some beast roaring beneath the cave floor, and at the same time, the earth begins to tremble beneath my feet.

KRIS: I walked out of the bathroom to see Lucian on my bed. His eyes were closed and he was exhaling softly. He must be sleeping, I concluded. Deciding to join him, I walked towards the edge of the bed but just then, my stomach rumbled. Oppps! I need me some food. Shuffling out of the room and down the stairs, I walked into the kitchen where I got snacks from the fridge and sat on a kitchen stool, ready to devour them. I was happily munching on the oreos till I felt eyes on me.

I unbuttoned all of it making my whole body visible. "Babe, could you pass me that strawberry?" I asked and Leon took out a box of strawberry for me. He turned and his eyes widen. "Are you trying to test me?" His eyes darkens and I smirked. "Test you what?" I said as I pretended to accidentally show my shoulder revealing half of my body. Leon walked to me and he pulled my body closer to him. He started to tease me down there with his finger making me moan.

I was about to step forward when Ahmed started waving his hands frantically, telling me not to come any closer. "What? Why?" I asked. Anas pointed to the ground. Why they weren't talking, I knew not. I looked towards where Anas was pointing. There was a huge gap separating me from my friends. I wanted to cry. Suddenly, everything went black. I hid behind a tree to avoid the tigress. I narrowly missed being hit by her claws. I didn't know how I ended up in the Savannah with what looked like a hungry tigress hunting me. I had no idea of what happened after I fainted.

I try to get to my feet, but my legs feel like lead. Through the haze, I see a group of people approaching. Are they here to help me, or are they the ones I’m running from? I struggle to stay conscious, to keep moving, but my body betrays me. I collapse, the last of my strength gone. The world fades, the sounds of the forest and the rain merging into a distant roar. Anna didn't know what the girl was saying. The girl took a glance around and hastily unlocked the door to the cage. "Let's go, we don't want to be caught," The girl said and grabbed her by the hand as they fled past the door. Anne noticed how burning hot everywhere was, her skin had almost turned red. That was when she noticed a huge burning fire…or was it lava underneath them?

He opened the doors, the lava flowed below their feet. Anabel walked out to the patio where Marcus was. She looked around, the lava didn’t feel like it would burn her, but she didn’t want to touch it. “I used to dream about this place, there was always something weird about it. Maybe this place was calling to me, and finally it got me here.” She said looking at Marcus.

Just in time, Kane grabbed my arm and dragged me back. "Hands," he whispered. "Told you." With a trembling voice, I said, "Thanks for the warning." We cautiously made our way into the temple, dodging more obstacles like concealed arrows, spinning blades, and crumbling ceilings, until we arrived at a big room. There was a pedestal in the middle with a shining orb on it. Kane extended his arm, but I took a step forward. "Hold on. It could be another trap. After hesitating, I nodded.
