I whined and Xavier nodded. “Go ahead and change” he said. I walked to where I had left my clothing and he turned his back to me as I willed the change to come on. Changing forms never hurt really, it was uncomfortable but not painful; however, since the bond it had become a fluid transformation like moving through water. I felt no discomfort as my paws turned into hands, my fur retracted, and I stood upright. Once fully transformed I gasped, the pain in my chest becoming more acute; more intolerable. It burned, like fire had been placed on my chest, and my body ached in ways I had never felt. Struggling to get dressed I panted.

I shut my eyes tight as I called on my first transformation. It took a while, but after an awfully long amount of time, I felt it. I felt my bones twist and turn into unnatural angles, the transformation digging deep into my skin. My joy knew no bounds at what happened next. It was a low whisper and almost barely existent, but I heard it, so clearly that it reverberated deep in my bones.
