Through the bond, I felt her concern sharpen. Not just for Serena. But for what Serena represented. A living breach. A stabilized fracture. Serena continued quickly now, like she was trying to outrun the instability inside her. “The Gate isn’t random,” she said. “It’s selecting points of resonance.” My brow tightened. “Resonance with what?” Serena hesitated.
