Long nails slashed at their sides and bled them out for all they were worth. A sharp hiss rang out from them before a familiar grunt echoed in the room. I was momentarily distracted by Serin's grunt of pain, which allowed one of the injured vampires to bite down into my neck. I hissed at the sensation before ripping his head off and quickly making my way to Serin and helping him out. I hissed as the bite on my neck began to sting and hoped that the vampire that bit me didn't carry any infection. Hoisting Serin up by his hands, I pulled him up and along with me.

They all followed their Luna to Amy’s room as her bleeding neck was the main issue there. Charlotte bandaged her wound quickly. “As you are a wolf-less omega, a vampire bite is not harmful for you.” She bit her lip and nodded, as Jason was impatient to spill the beans. “Liam has just marked you, Amy. Biting is the only possible way for a sired vampire to ensure his/her claim.” Amy gasped in disbelief; her eyes welled up. “Is, Is that true?”

It was just part of him. “Annette. Wake up, darling.” She was covered in blood from the neck down, her clothes soaked. He shook her limp form. She was cold, too cold, no spark of life in her lax body. Hardly daring to breathe, he pushed two fingers against her throat. Her pulse flickered faintly, growing weaker with each pulse. He was losing her. He turned her head, limp on her neck, to reveal two jagged wounds on the other side of her throat. Vampyre. She’d been fed on by a vampyre. A new one by the ferocity of the bites.

He could conquer anyone for his mate. The vampire pivoted and shoved his hands forward, tossing ten venomous claws at Anthony in a swift move that would've caught Anthony off guard. Anthony's beast came forward, and his eyes switched to the lightest amber as he blocked the claws in midair, sending them back to the vampire. Immediately, he took his machine gun from his shoulder and shot the vampire. The bullet and the claws hit the vampire at a time.

“She’s not going to die. That’s the good news. The bad news… Mr. Harvard, you should explain.” Elliot walked to the window, looking down at Amy. His reflection was pale. “She was bitten by Dracula. Not a metaphor. Not a genetically altered mutant. The actual Dracula. A primordial vampire. His bite isn’t just toxic; it’s transformative. Or lethal. There is no in-between.” The room went cold. “Transformative?” Bryan’s voice was hollow. “She will either die as her human biology fails under the vampiric curse,” Elliot said quietly, “or she will complete the transformation and become a vampire herself. A fledgling, bound to Dracula’s bloodline.”

This pull is strange, scary but amazing. The problem now is, how do I keep the most stubborn Vampire to ever exist safe without having a fight with her?

As Joshua rushed into the living room carrying his screaming sister, Beverly prepared the couch so he could put her down. Nicolas instantly knew who bit her from the way she was squirming.
