When Best Friends Kiss
I pressed my hand to his chest, over his heart.
"I have this. Every single beat. And that's not something she can ever take."
He stared at me for a long moment. Then he kissed me again, harder this time, with all the frustration and longing and love he couldn't express anywhere else.
"I love you," he breathed against my mouth.
"God, I love you so much."
"I love you too."
The ice cream blender beeped, announcing it was done, but neither of us moved.
"Let it freeze," Todd murmured, his lips trailing down my neck. "We have time."
