I'd play a game or two before I went back in there. My go-to games were the latest versions of Fall Out and Call of Duty. I chose Fall Out because I really needed a team to play better on Call of Duty. My discord group wouldn't be on this early in the day to coordinate with and besides, it wasn't about playing the game right now. It was about distracting myself from jumping Analiese's bones in the next two minutes.

He whispers, his words shutting down my brain cells. I raise my glass of wine to my lips and take a sip as I look anywhere else but him. Thankfully, Dominique doesn’t say anything else. We continue to eat and as usual, Dominique continues to stare at me. We finish eating and the waiter comes back to clear the table. With nothing but a bottle of wine and our two glasses left on the table, I exhale. “Okay, I have got a game for us.” Dominique smiles. “I can’t wait to hear it.”

The next day, we were sitting at the table playing the game called Onde. Conor had a small basket with snacks and cider brought in while we played. It had been quiet and peaceful all day. Conor was helping me play against Bart and Joanne since it was easier to learn when you played on a team. Sixth round and we have lost each one. I was not very good at this game, but I was told that this too would be something I would need to practice. “We should play Conquain again.” I said to Joanne with a smirk. I can at least win at that!

Alpha Leo’s POV She looked at me with confusion in her eyes. She couldn't believe what I said for a moment as her mouth opened and closed on its own. “What… What was the meaning of what you just said? Games and rules? Why would an Alpha play games in his mansion? Are you going to create some gaming stations in the mansion where you and I will be playing games?” She asked, feigning ignorance, but it was clear to me that she knew that wasn't what I meant.

Aria The neon sign of the hourly motel buzzed erratically outside the window, casting a sickly green glow over the peeling wallpaper. I didn't care about the grime. I didn't care about the rain leaking through the window pane. I only cared about the black titanium drive sitting next to my portable terminal. My fingers were flying across the mechanical keyboard, the rapid-fire clicking the only sound cutting through the damp room.

He yanked his hand away and tried to turn. I said lazily, with a cold edge, “If you try to run, don’t ever think about walking out this door again.” He hesitated. I stepped behind him and wrapped my arms around him. My fingertips traced his chest and felt the muscles tighten, like touching a sword ready to be drawn. “Leon, let’s play a game.” He closed his eyes hard. When he opened them, they were darker and dangerous. “Play what?” I tilted my head and smiled, a vicious light in my eyes.

The rich sound filled the car and seeped beneath my skin, where it transformed into a bloom of pleasure. "You truly come up with the most flattering comparisons." His dry tone contrasted with the sparkle in his eyes. My stomach swooped like l'd just plunged down the slope of a rollercoaster. The sight of a laughing, unguarded Dante was utterly catastrophic for my ovaries. "It's a talent I honed growing up." Maybe we could hang out after dinner.” Sandra said but Tobi is fast enough to decline her offer. “Sorry, Andrea and I have a lot of things to try tonight.” He replied making my forehead creased. What things are we going to try tonight? Calvin’s forehead creased at what Tobi said. “What things are that? Maybe we can do that also.” Calvin uttered. Tobi chuckled. “I doubt we have a lot of positions to tackle tonight, am I right Andrea?” Tobi said and being the stupid one.

Having a crampy stomach when I need to go isn’t anything new for me, but right now, I’m having a hard time distinguishing which part of me is actually hurting. Marissa just left, and I’m doing laundry while talking to Mom on the phone. She’s checking in like she always does, and only mentions the gender reveal party fifty times. I fold the last of my towels and set the stack on top of my coffee table. Luna jumps up and sits on them, knocking the stack over. I purse my lips and look at her, shaking my head. “So,” I interject the moment there’s a lull in the conversation. “I met Archer’s brother.”

I met his gaze squarely and said coldly, “You know that she’s my girlfriend too, huh?” I took out my phone and showed him a hotel billing statement, and it was billed to the supplementary card I had set for Naomi. “You can’t even pay for your own hotel room to sleep with another woman? You should earn enough money for a vasectomy instead.”
