Danika and Beatrice stood still as the monster approached them. "Should we run?" Danika asked. "If what I read in books does not work and I make it out alive, I'll never read books again," she replied. "That doesn't answer the question," Danika said. "We should not." They waited for the sea monster to attack them. They felt helpless - they couldn't stand the size of the monster. A whisk from the monster's jaw is taller than Beatrice. I looked up and my stomach dropped. Aziel Nightbane. The monster himself. His golden eyes burned down at me with pure hate. Up close he smelled like blood and smoke and something darker that made my wolf stir. “Who are you running from boy?” he growled. His voice was low and rough like gravel under boots. His grip tightened on my arm hard enough to bruise. I gasped for air and forced words out even though my throat felt tight. “Please. I am nothing. Just a slave omega. Let me go and I will disappear. You will never see me again I swear it.”

The monster let out a loud growl and launched itself in my direction, its jaws wide open. I closed my eyes, quietly accepting my fate. "So… This is how it ends."

"Zergs have corrosive blood! Their shells are hard! They are immune to bullets! Normal people can't kill them!" "Can or can't, we'll see after I try," I say, eyeing the joint between the monster's head and body. I kick off the wall, launching myself into the air. "And who said I was normal?" The Zerg opens its mandibles. I catch its antennae mid-air and swing myself onto its back. I flip the axe in my hand. Thwack. I drive the blade precisely into the gap in its neck armor. I hold onto the handle for dear life as the monster thrashes. I twist the blade. Green slime sprays out. I dodge to the side, avoiding the corrosive splash. Below me, I can feel the axe handle melting from the acid.
