The music downstairs was a ghost now, muffled through velvet walls. Up here, the world had narrowed to them, her body trembling between three predators who wouldn’t let her go. Amara’s legs wobbled with every step as the first man carried her deeper into the club, down a hallway lit with dim red bulbs. She wanted to speak, to protest, but her throat was raw from moans and cries. Her skin smelled of sweat, sex, and them. A door opened to their private suite.

He finally spoke,his voice filled with indifference. His uncaring attitude shattered something in me. A surge of emotion swam through me, betrayal,heartbreak,rage. I heard several gasps as a sudden light erupted within me,surging through my veins like wildfire.. My body trembled as the sudden change took over me,every muscle twisting and reshaping as power and pain collided. I gasped,my scream shifting into a low growl. When the light faded,I stood there on four legs,although I was smaller than most wolves,my red fur shimmered with an ethereal glow,and my eyes burned with defiance. "Joanna, how could you be so selfish? Jocelyn's still in the hospital, and all you can think about is leaving?" Dad frowned and added, "You have no sense of responsibility." I looked at them, a cold numbness spreading through my chest. So that was it. No matter what I did, they always called it selfish. "Dodging responsibility?" I curled my lips into a bitter smile. "When did I ever say I was?" I picked up my phone, dialed Jocelyn's number right in front of them, and put it on speaker. After a few rings, her voice came through—weak but still dripping with her usual arrogance.

The human side of me or rather the nonhuman side is fighting with the hungry demon which lives inside of me. He was silent, almost as if he was struggling to align his thoughts It was like a vacuum, sucking up the air and leaving only the weight of his inner turmoil. The echoes of his Inner demons seemed to reverberate through the stillness, their whispers growing louder, more insistent. It was as if his mind was a battlefield, with thoughts and emotions clashing in a frenzy of confusion. And then, like a crack in the armor, a faint whisper escaped his lips. “I don’t know who I am anymore.” The words hung in the air like a fragile leaf on a winter’s breeze, vulnerable and tremulous.
