Ice Cold - Part Two: Winter's Bane

Ice Cold - Part Two: Winter's Bane

Sure enough, the Domineers were not far away. The sky was starting to brighten as dawn approached, but it would be a while yet before the morning sun was able to illuminate the woods of the great Appalachians. The Domineers were hiking through the hilly, snow-covered terrain in the form of a party consisting of over twenty men, armed lightly but dangerously. Most of them were extremely anxious about crossing back into the vast realm of no-man’s land after all the Domineers’ encounters with the Runners.

When the Alpha Howls

When the Alpha Howls

Like I was shopping for bedtime stories instead of trying to decide whether my life had cracked open into impossibility. “Thank you,” I murmured. The folklore section was tucked into a quiet corner near a window that looked out toward the forest. Of course it did. The books there were a strange little army: weathered hardcovers, thin local history pamphlets, glossy paperbacks with titles involving moons and curses and women who looked poorly dressed for weather. I started with the serious looking ones. Northern Appalachian Folk Beliefs, Predator Myths of the American East, Silver, Salt, and Blood: Ritual Materials in Regional Lore. I pulled them down one by one, making a stack against my che

Ice Cold - Part One: The Dark Zone

Ice Cold - Part One: The Dark Zone

Summer, 2008 The Adirondacks, New York “the Dark Zone” One does not navigate through the Appalachian Mountains with ease if he does not belong there, especially in the dead of night. The glow of a single propane lantern is hardly enough to illuminate the darkness while surrounded by the great clusters of tall trees.

Sinner (Upperworld)

Sinner (Upperworld)

Luckily, Chris was quick to pull her hand and lead Senna to where was Amilia standing, or trying to. Lake District was in pandemonium. There was fire all around the buildings. Trees are falling because there was a little shake in the ground. The buildings are collapsing. The ground is breaking and the lake beside was void of water. It was as if the end of the world was happening and all this was just inside the Lake District. It was terrible. But most of all, the most frightening things are the Shades. Huge and ugly monsters. Amilia remembers their claws and their mouths. She also remembered her short trip in the darkness. She can’t let that happen again. Once is enough.

And after what she told me earlier,of what she had seen…” Hollingsworth Manor,July 1984 “I swear to you Polly,”Ginny said in her most excited voice.”I saw her…in my room!” “Calm down Ginny,”Polly implored.”Tell me everything from the beginning.” Polly pulled her younger sister down next to her on the low wall overlooking the garden, where the flowers were in full bloom.Ginny’s beautiful elfin face,so much like her own,was frozen in a mask of pure terror. “I believe you Polly, everything you said about this place is true…its haunted! At first I only felt it,but now… I have seen this evil with my own two eyes!”

The Immortal Emperor Returns

The Immortal Emperor Returns

A ten-meter-long gully appeared on the ground, which was dyed red by blood and filled with corpses. About thirty people were killed by this finger. The earth was bloodstained, leaving a blood path. The wind howled, and countless blood red maple leaves fell from the top of the mountain. It was in dead silence and everyone was horrified. "The... the devil!" "Let's run away. He's the devil. He came here to kill us." A cry of horror sounded. Some people threw away their long knives and ran away. They even wished that they were born with another two legs.

Omega and the vampire prince

she giggled "The way they screamed and ran, the way they sometimes fell down hollers, the Appalachian mountains has loads of crevasses and sheer falls, sometimes they help themselves to death..." Ray sat quietly taking in this new side of her, a raw sheer bare bone Tala, to the core who she was, where she came from, he found her breathtaking still, he wanted to hear more "And then?" "You not disgusted in me?" "No, we're both predators of kinds, we have out bad sides, I just found that sweet face telling me about this dark past, entruiging" "Again with the English?" Under the Hallow Veil (Editingle Halloween Anthology)

Under the Hallow Veil (Editingle Halloween Anthology)

It infuriated Cassy more—with the night that’s the homecoming of the ghosts and horrors. A wicked laugh itched to be out, instead, she scrutinized the height. The distance between her and the ground did not harrow her. It amazed her at how different she’s lurking around where the normal people might not even stare without a wave of nausea washing over them. An urge to smoke-filled her; she fetched a pack from the inside pocket of her dark blue jacket; ignited the flame, mumbling, “Every legendary story is a pent-up frustration of human beings to invoke fear in the minds of those whom they hate. Several against one or one against many.”

Stuck with the Twin Alpha

Stuck with the Twin Alpha

The night is still young when we reached the borderline of the remote area that we’ve just visited. Alpha Antonio needed to make some conversations with the mountain people before they let us pass and enter one of the dangerous mountains in the eastern country. Yes. Most dangerous and mysterious because of the old-wives tales that have been circulating for over a century now. My mom used to tell me not to cross into this mountain alone and without enough strength to defend myself. She warned me and yet, here I am walking further into the darkness, trying to figure out what this land is trying to hide from the realm of the world.

Return to Power

Return to Power

Madison said softly. Hearing this, Jason couldn't help but smile. This time, if he wanted to drive the little guy away, the little guy probably wouldn't leave. Night fell. The father and son came to the back of the mountain. Little Apple was a little scared. He did not expect that he could hide anything from his father. The old man called him to the mountain. Little Apple was a little nervous. “Will the old man dig a hole to bury me?” Of course, this thought was just a flash. He knew that his father could not be cruel.
