Kade watched her hands, narrowing his eyes, already suspicious she was stacking the deck.
First round, Aria came out swinging—dropping a Reverse, a Skip, then slamming a bright red Draw Two onto the pile like a mic drop.
“Ohhh, someone’s feeling bold,” Kade muttered, dragging two cards from the draw pile, shaking his head. “You’ve been waiting years for this moment, haven’t you?”
“Damn right I have,” she smirked, crossing her legs beneath her and leaning forward, elbows on knees, eyes locked on him. “You’re in my arena now, cowboy.”
