"Really. I thought they were obsessed with blood," I reply, and she shrugs.
"They track using a prey's blood, but we have researched them. Since we heal fast and we know they can't kill us with just their bites, we have run experiments. We force a thirsty one to go without food for a few days, and then we put our arms through the bars. The thirsty ones always bite, and we have found that they suck everything out. They have venom in their mouths that liquify most tissues. So they literally suck their prey completely dry.
