A Game With No Rules

A Game With No Rules

I feel pity for the big guy. Right now, Roman and I are in a stand-off against his cousins Menandro and Lara in a game called Sapo. It meant Choke the Frog, but without an actual frog. A figurine frog sat on top of an erected log in the middle of the garden. Each team has ten gold coins and all we have to do is aim for the frog’s mouth, choke the figurine. It was easier said than done. Each team hasn’t been able to choke the freaking open-mouthed frog yet. We only have four coins left for each team. Menandro missed another shoot. Lara’s aim was no good as well.

THE GAME

THE GAME

Then stopped as if remembering something. " But if he's called off the bet, how the hell are we going to know if he really has feelings for you?" She asked. I pondered on it for a while and thats when I smirked. " Just because a player quits doesn't mean the game's over." I said and stared ahead. Ariana watched me keenly. " And what do you have in mind?" She asked menacingly. I chuckled. " Its a game right?" " Right." " Then we keep on playing...." I said and glanced at her. She grinned wildly and hugged me tightly.

Claimed by the Ice Captain

Specific and fair, the kind of note he made regularly, and I received it regularly because he was usually right. I disagreed with this particular one. I said so directly. He restated his position. I restated mine. We were in the frustration of two people looking at the same play in their respective memories and arriving at different conclusions, where the argument is not about facts but about which facts carry the weight. "You were too far forward on the second setup," he said. "I was in the lane you specified in the pre-game. If I held back any further, I would have been directly in Reyes's path."

Mira Regret's Her Heartless Billionaire Ex

Mira Regret's Her Heartless Billionaire Ex

Mira We argued for the first time on a Saturday. Not the long-suppressed eruptions of the early weeks, the kind freighted with seven years of accumulated grievance and managed so carefully on both sides that even a direct statement felt like a controlled detonation. This was something different. This was the argument of two people who were close enough now to disagree without the disagreement being about everything else underneath it. It started over something small. That is how the real arguments always start, I have found: the large ones announce themselves, they have weight and precedent and you can see them arriving from a distance. The small ones simply appear, already in progress, befo

So opposite sides. A few students glance between us, someone exhales, and another a light chuckle like they have been given first row ticket to a game show. Professor Hale continues, “ you'll have opening statements. And then it is time to prove your points, it's not about who's wrong or right, it's strategy, argue about your position you are assigned to.” His eyes lingers on me more than they should. “Alpha Vale, you start.” of course i am I stand slowly, the room goes quiet, they always do.

The Night Before Christmas

I turned slightly, my attention moving back to the engagement clusters, watching the way the narratives shifted, expanded, and reformed in response to interaction. “They’re not trying to win the argument,” I said. Kingsley glanced at me. “Sir?” “They’re trying to keep it going.” Because as long as the argument existed, control remained suspended. Ownership could not stabilise. Authority could not settle. Everything remained in motion. And motion was where mistakes happened. “They want us to respond,” Daniel said. “Yes,” I agreed. “But not because they expect to lose.” Silence followed. Because the implication was clear. “They expect us to make it worse.”

The Slaved Virgin Offering

Then I thought of something. "Let's play a game!" I said. Sammy would be forced to talk, and maybe even attempt to flirt, if we played a board game or something. "Yeah, this show sucks," Carrie said and clicked it off, "What do you want to play?" "I don't know. We have Risk, Monopoly, and Scrabble. But I am not in the mood for Scrabble," I said. Scrabble is a quiet game; we needed something that required talking. "Ah! No Board games let's play something else. How about Kings!" Adrienne said. I shook my head.

A GAME OF LIES

And yet… she couldn’t forget the way his lips had felt, the way her body had betrayed he and--Damn it! Her phone buzzed again. ‘Keep going, honey. Remember all he’s done to you and never forget that your revenge is a must.’ Amira swallowed hard, her pulse hammering in her ears. Three months left. That was all the time she had to play this dangerous game. She turned the phone face down in her lap, forcing her expression into something neutral. The men were still talking about alliances, threats, and all things money-related but their voices blurred in her ears. All she could hear was the echo of Alessandro’s words.

he said slowly, each word squeezed out through clenched teeth, "why don't we drop the pretense and play one serious round to decide it?" Liam didn't respond. He even turned his gaze slightly away, as if he had suddenly lost interest in everything before him--including Meredith's fury. "What?" Meredith's voice shot up, sharp with mockery. "Don't tell me you're...scared?" Only then did Liam turn back, meeting his aggressive stare with unruffled calm. "I just think it's unnecessary," he said mildly. "Adult games are more enjoyable when you know when to stop. Taking it this seriously only makes you look...a bit childish."

The Alpha's Rejection

The Alpha's Rejection

Which was probably a good thing. The entire pack had spent the last two days thinking about nothing else. Karen handed everyone their cards before settling comfortably into her seat. A few rounds later, Adrian was already losing. "This game is rigged." Karen laughed. "The game isn't rigged. You're just terrible." "I demand a recount." "There is no recount in card games." "There should be." I shook my head while taking another card. "Accept defeat." Adrian looked personally offended. "Coming from someone who's winning, that's easy to say."
