LILY'S POV I used to think love was the safest place in the world. I used to think that when you found someone who saw your flaws and still chose you, you could breathe freely, knowing they’d never turn their back on you. That’s what Aiden was to me. Or at least, that’s what I believed. Three years ago, before the art exhibition meeting, I met him the very first time on a rainy Tuesday. I remember because my umbrella broke, and I ran into the nearest café dripping wet and furious.

This is where the second book ends (yay). I’m ending it here because I felt that the storyline was starting to get too long for one book. This means that there’ll be a third book, but (drumroll) it’ll be part 2 of this one. But I’m calling it Mates and Temptations because The Pains of Guilt Part 2 didn’t sound catchy. And as a special little something, I added a bonus chapter after this one and a little blurb about the third book. I don’t have an exact date for when I’ll release book 3 because when it comes to my writing, I hate deadlines (they make me rush things and it affects the quality of my writing). The only reason I had one for this book is that I already had a lot of chapters ready

Sweat trickled down Arth’s forehead, down to his face and neck. He couldn’t stand all these books piled up on the desk while he’d been forcing himself to read the one opened to him. It made him recall his sessions with Maester Irvine when he’s still in the castle. Books had been too much for him. Reading had been too much for him. “I can’t …” Arth said under his breath, wiping the sweat on his forehead. The air inside the den had stayed hot, far from the weather in Glacia. “This isn’t working for me, Eli.”

Patience replied with a tight smile. “Sure,” Aislen replied and took a sip of orange juice. “Why was I there? Heath and I bumped into Mr Graynor at the Farmer’s Market, and he reminded me that the school was in possession of an art book from when I was a student there. He told me that they were changing the display and that I should get my book back. It has a portrait of Rhett that I painted when we were teenagers, and I wanted that back, so I went to get it,” she saw Rhett blush, the colour flushing through the tattoos revealed by the v neck of his top before creeping up his neck and face.

Xavier 's pov I was sitting in my office library engrossed in my work . Different cases require different references to various clauses and sectons of warewolf penal codes . My library consists of multiple books ranging from legislatures,civil law books to historic fictions. You name a book at it will be here in my library. I got up from my seat and searched through the multiple shelfes looking for the red covered book which has a case similar to the present one at my hand.

As we walked around the stacks, I couldn’t stop thinking about my mother and wondered what other causes she contributed to in the area. Victor and I stopped at a computer terminal to look up Arthur Wilson. Victor checked the screen. “They have several books that have information about him in the art section and the early werewolf history section,” he said. “Where do you want to start?” “Let’s look in the history section first,” I replied and walked toward massive rows of tall bookshelves. It felt like I was entering a maze. It took several minutes to find the history books. When we did, I was delighted to see two books available about Arthur Wilson.

The haunted look he'd carried for ninety-nine years was gone, replaced by simple contentment. "Hey," he said, noticing me. "Food's almost ready. Why don't you relax? You've been working too hard on that manuscript." I looked down. There was a laptop on the table in front of me. I open to a document, and saw my book. The one I'd always wanted to write and it was really,really good. *This could be yours,* the city whispered. *Peace, safety and love without the constant threat of death. Chapter Twelve The rain had been relentless all Friday. Sheets of water fell from the sky, drumming against windows and rooftops, as if the heavens themselves were mourning or warning. Nora sat in the art studio, trying desperately to focus on her presentation, but her brush hovered uselessly over the canvas. The colours and lines felt meaningless. Every stroke of paint blurred, smudged by the storm of emotions inside her.

She wore large rectangular glasses that covered her eyes as well as framed a delicate face. "Hi," I said as she stopped beside me. "It's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Lauren Shayla Gray, an art director and current artist in New York City." My mouth fell open a little bit as I heard the title, not quite believing what I had just heard. Lauren smiled and tilted her head slightly. "What?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. I shook myself out of my thoughts, "Oh, no. It's just that... I haven't met anyone like that here."
