Artemis could clearly feel the difference after every session with Malik. Dr. Emma Vargas’s lessons guided Artemis through advanced trauma procedures and the mental fortitude needed to perform them under fire. Just like Reyes' lessons, Arte fumbled heavily, but Vargas was patient. She guided her, gave her time to hesitate, and allowed her breathing room when she felt overwhelmed. The medical lessons from Reyes and Vargas were extremely taxing on Artemis' mental health. After a few lessons, she'd come to realise during a conversation with Ayame, that it was more than likely because Arte was better suited to combat and destruction rather than saving lives and fixing.
