Could we trust her about the ambush? “Armageddon to base,” Candido said into his radio. “Revoke Artemis’ access and investigate her activities. Track her and apprehend her if possible. If she returns, detain her for questioning.”

I almost ran into the room again, when I saw a firearm suddenly stuck to Arga's forehead. “H-hey, what are you doing?” I whispered in horror. “Who are you?” The face of the person who was holding Arga's hand was finally visible when he stood beside the candle. I unconsciously sipped saliva. I can barely distinguish my feelings right now. Am I afraid… fascinated… both?

“You’re serious? Me? Your lawyer? Are you insane? I’m trapped here! And what about Artemis? You think I’m just going to jump at the chance to defend the man who’s holding me here, the man who hurt my bodyguard?” Hades’s eyes narrowed. He looked past her to where Artemis stood quietly in a corner, watching, her face blank. “Artemis. Excuse us. My wife and I need to discuss her new... duties. Alone.” Artemis, stiff and professional, simply nodded and left the gym.
