Instead his hips met the man’s every thrust. “You’re not done yet, are you, you beast?”

The scientists called themselves the Ascended. They had spent fifty years modifying their genetics. Enhancing strength, speed, intelligence, lifespan. They were no longer entirely wolf or human or hybrid. They were something new. "We have transcended biological limitations," their leader—a woman named Helix—announced. "We live twice as long. Think twice as fast. We are what evolution would take millennia to create." "You are playing god," River said. "No. We are becoming gods." The Ascended numbered five thousand. All volunteers. All willing to risk death for enhancement.

It swallowed even the faint reflection of light. “The entity resides within the depths of the Mariana Trench.” Kaelith frowned. “…deepest part of the ocean.” “Yes.” The Archangel’s voice remained calm. “But it will not remain there.” The sky dimmed further, as if reacting to the words. “If it ascends, it will reach the surface.” Aurelian’s gaze sharpened. “Clarify.” “It will not distinguish,” the Archangel said. “It will consume without discrimination. Ocean. Land. Life.”

She growled softly, anger burning through her body, ‘How fucking dare they! She was about to rip them off when a bolt of electricity pierced her body, and she yelled in pain, ‘Just making sure you understand what will happen if you try to escape.’ A voice said close to her ear, and when she turned her head, she saw the youngest of the ‘Angels’, that was what they looked like, stunningly handsome Archangels, with varying shades of blonde hair and blue eyes. They were perfect, each of them different but also the same, as if they were siblings, but they were nothing of the sort; these were the Dark Angels Warriors. He was the antithesis of the Creator, and he was desperate to prevent her ascens

A few minutes later, the snake woman slithered gracefully and inched 3 meters closer to them, elevating their heartbeats even more. Fang flinched in fear, but when he looked into Creed's stern eyes, he calmed down. Running away might seem like the most logical option, but it was not. Ascension was not something ordinary, but a very private and a grand occurrence. To encounter a being ready to ascend was not something that happened daily. At least not for beasts. More than a phenomenon, it was a representation of awakening. The purification of the body. The reincarnation of a soul.

Through the storm, a distinguished, glowing figure appeared. He was tall, radiant, and otherworldly. He had a single, massive wing. It was snow-white and striking. Just one. That alone told me what he was. A fallen angel. His long hair matched the color of his feathers, pale as fresh snow, and his entire being seemed to glow with the soft, cool light of the moon. He moved toward me with such quiet, effortless grace that it barely seemed real. He was so beautiful, so hauntingly perfect. I stood frozen and completely spellbound.

Celestial beings, radiant embodiments of ascending energies, awaited the couple within the celestial pinnacle, their presence elevating the very essence of the astral realms.
