Colton said with a look of sympathy on his face. “Yes, I think he is right,” Drake said from the table. He pointed to a piece of text and Aaron started reading through it. He nodded and looked up at me. “It talks about an ascension,” he said. “The host must have full control, and a complete willing submission must be given from the subject before the rightful heir can take the throne.” “Okay,” I said. I didn’t really feel any better, but it was something. “So War needs to get me to agree to the bond? Can we use that?”

The parchment unfurled with a soft crackle, ink shimmering like molten gold. She read aloud: “By decree of the Three Thrones of Luminary—the Sun Throne of Solaris, the Moon Throne of Lunaris, and the Night Throne of Noctis—Princess Alessia Keren Endymion is hereby summoned to appear at the Imperial Conclave in seven days’ time for judgment, recognition, and ascension review.” Seraphine’s knees buckled. “Ascension?! Princess Alessia is sixteen!” Eryx groaned, “They’re out of their minds.”

She had never expected to be taking this position so soon, and especially not while her father was alive. An turned to cast her eyes across the room full of nobles in front of her who had stood as she ascended the stairs. No sooner had her eyes landed on them did they drop to their knees in respect, and as she took her rightful place on the Throne of Selene, as one, they bared their necks in submission to her.

He had been elevated to a status much more greater than any powerful alpha in the world. He is the next in line to inherit the title. He is the heir to royalty. The next Alpha king!

Normally, the position of alpha was often given to the first child of the current alpha in the pack, but things changed when Simeon ascended the throne of the alpha and I soon understood the reason behind the rift of the two brothers. Just like in the case of the alpha king, the next in line for the throne had to fight for the position. The difference is that in our case, we had to fight the alpha on seat before ascending the throne. That is, my father had to fight and conquer his late father to prove he was fit and ready to become king, and soon, I would have to fight him and defeat him before ascending the throne of the alpha king.

I owe him a lot. He smiled and stood to hug me. “I'm proud of you.” I smiled and pulled away from the hug before facing Beta Dexter. “Beta Dexter, I am 18 now and according to the rules of this pack and the oath you swore to before ascending the throne, I am entitled to ask for what is mine now.” I stated firmly. Beta Dexter frowned, glaring dangerously at me. “What are you talking about?” He asked. “Step down. I want to ascend my father's throne.”

Roberick's heart overflowed with love for the land of Avondale, and his vision for a better future held the promise of healing the kingdom's wounds. The announcement of Roberick's ascension to the throne was met with eager anticipation. The people of Avondale gathered in the grand square, their faces reflecting a mixture of hope and longing. Dressed in regal attire, Roberick took his place on the throne with a deep sense of responsibility and love for his people.

"And I only speak mine when it’s time for the world to kneel." A chill shot through me. "And what does that have to do with me?" I asked, forcing my voice to stay steady. "Everything," he said. "Because my ascension must be seamless. No disruptions, no suspicions. I cannot take the throne as an outsider. I must be woven into the system, trusted, undeniable." He grinned, his teeth flashing like a wolf's before the kill. "So, I will take a form not used before. And I will rise through the ranks as one of Ronin’s most trusted men."

A new home, one where they would never have to worry about going hungry again. Geneva took one more glance at Phillip. She waved and smiled, and he waved back. At the age of just twenty-three, he had ascended the throne. She was extremely proud of all that he had accomplished in that time. He could not wait to marry her either, after years of stolen glances in the castle halls. It was funny to think that it was all thanks to a book.
