Her Texas accent grates on my nerves as she jabbers on and points to some other equally excited female fans who wave at Ash. She even dares to wave them over. Ten, or maybe twenty of them race over as well and they surround Ash. He tries, he really does try to hold on to my fingers, but that doesn't happen as they slip out of his and I'm effectively cut off from him.

I don't know why exactly, but it looks like their main goal is to get her to stop trusting you. She's constantly fighting herself. Claire and Monica were playing a multi-player game while Annabelle was studying. All of a sudden, Ashely stood up from the bed and walked into the bathroom to take a shower. Her eyes darted towards the window side and she could see the sun sinking into the horizon. It was now getting dark. She turned on the shower and as the water dripped on her body, she felt relieved but then, Priestess Luciana's words echoed in her ears again. "You have to watch out for the demons. They'll be after you now that your identity has been revealed and they'll try to kill more humans than before to bring back the war beast as soon as possible..."

“Yes, I killed that freak…she used to hang out with that fat girl…I should have killed her instead…her friend just got in the way…” The video cut back to Sasha talking into the camera. “It's time for these senseless killings to stop. Subs are humans too. They can be friends…” she smiled at Layla standing with her and her minions and Layla smiled back. “They can be family too. As long as I'm here, I'll do everything I can to make the bullying stop…” Peter ended the video and cast his phone aside. “Okay, this is total BS. Why on earth would Sasha do something like this? All the elites will come for her! God, she's fucking cunning.”

I said and we laughed. “I wanted to cross-check the calendar again,” Jaxon said amidst laughter. "Tell me about it," I said, chuckling as I sat down opposite them. "Feels good to be home." Jaxon leaned back in his chair, eyeing me with open curiosity. "So? How was Axelland? Word reached us about the celebration. Sounds like it was quite the event." I nodded. "It was... intense." They waited, patient, as I gathered my thoughts. "I met Alpha Damien. Strong leader. Fair but fierce. His Luna, Lyra, she's special, as you already know. You can feel it when you're near her. She holds real power. They're a force together."

Cassius's voice was iron from behind me. But the assassin was a blur of black cloth and focused intent. His sword arced down. I threw up a hand, not in a plea but a command. A shimmering pane of fractured lavender light flared into existence. Metal met mana with a sharp crack. The shield held for a bare second before shattering like glass. "Again!"

She also apologized to me on the stream, saying she had neglected me and asking me not to be angry. That reversal stunned Rowan’s fans. The same people who had been attacking me immediately flooded into the livestream to question Nina. "If you are Ash’s girlfriend, then why did you give Rowan flowers on the night the league was won?" Nina lowered her gaze and spoke clearly, word by word. "Giving Rowan flowers was part of our ruse to hype a CP." After saying that, she added, "I know I was terribly wrong, so heaven punished me by taking away the boyfriend who loved me most. I'm sorry to everyone, especially to Ash."

My chest felt heavy, like every heartbeat was dragging me closer to a choice I didn’t want to make. Then Knox stepped forward. “We can’t wait. They’re laughing at us and we won't have that.” His gaze slid to me. “Unless someone here wants to talk peace.” I met his eyes. “I want to think before I bury another brother.” “Thinking doesn’t stop bullets,” he shot back. “You gonna write them a letter, Ash? Ask them nicely not to kill us?” A few brothers snickered, uneasy laughter mixing with anger. Griff slammed his fist down. “Enough! Ash, you in or out?”

It wanted to fall into place. I forced my breath steady, the way my mother taught me, the way you steady your hands before stitching a wound. Then I spoke the only words that had ever worked. “ASH.” Black cinders rose off the floor, spiraling around the circle. The runes flared, resisting, but the ash didn’t care. It tightened, thickened, becoming a wall—around Dax’s ankles, around the etched lines, smothering the glow. For one heartbeat, the pull on him eased.

Sasha glared at her while clenching her fists hard, her veins popping out on the back of her hand rather frighteningly. "That knife is coated with my blood." Lana smiled evilly. "I have AIDS, and I'm going to die." When she was saying this, she seemed rather excited. Her dull eyes were gleaming with the light of revenge, and her voice was also trembling a little because of this. "I was originally going to drag you down with me." The "you" Lana meant was Sasha. "But this idiot had to die for you." Lana threw away her mask of fake kindness, revealing her true evil face.
