Chests heaving and heavy breathing, his eyes daring me not to give in and my eyes probably telling him to do his worst, one of his hands reached under my knee and the other went under my thigh, cupping them and forcefully pulling me against him to feel… him. My lips parted, and I let it out, my back arched deeper than I thought was humanly possible and if I didn’t know any better I’d think it wasn’t me, but I knew it was as I watched the smile that grew wider on his lips as he watched my eyes flutter open and close. He bent, burying his head in the crook of my neck, and mumbled against my skin. “I win” “Jerk” “Mummy?” A voice said. I stilled, Asher stood straight as we stared at each other.

Kaelen never looked back. I stood in the doorway, watching them walk to the elevator. In the garage, Kaelen opened the passenger door for Seraphina. As she got in, she deliberately rolled down the window. She took out that damned memory crystal. "Want to see it again?" she yelled at me. The crystal activated, and the humiliating images were projected onto the car window again—me, thirteen years ago, bound in silver chains, covered in blood, sobbing in despair... And this time, Kaelen sat in the driver's seat and watched it all without stopping her.

Ash bows his head graciously, “Asher Wild, Prince to the Vampire King of England. But please, call me Ash. Everyone does, it feels weird to have people say my full name now.” The king bows his head, “Her loss, if only temporary, is felt keenly here.” Luther says, and Ash nods,

Hopefully Jack would feel the same about my gift. Once we were finished eating, we all made our way back to the lounge. I quickly grabbed the present from under the tree and handed it to Jack. “Open my present first” “I wanted you to open mine first” he sighed. “My parents were my first gift from you, so its only fair you now open a gift from me” “Fine” He sighed as he opened the box. Grant stood close with his phone out videoing Jacks reaction. “I am guessing you know what this is?” He asked Grant.

At that moment, a warrior rushed in to report, "Patriarch Atticus, Mr. Asher has returned." Atticus lit up with surprise. "Asher is back? Good. Where is he?"

At that moment, Asher walked in, dressed in a dark button-down and slacks, sleeves rolled up, hair still damp from a recent shower. “You look like you slept here,” Alissa teased, raising an eyebrow. “I might as well have,” he replied, handing her a warm coffee. “Thought you could use this.” She took it gratefully. “You’re spoiling me.” “Only because I want those shares to grow,” he winked. Before Alissa could respond, one of the workers rushed over. “Ma’am! There’s a delivery... from him.” Alissa’s smile vanished. “Where is it?”

A message from an unknown number. Rising from the ashes requires fire. Are you ready to get burned? He stared at the message, the corners of his mouth twitching into a smirk. Natalie. Only she could turn a threat into poetry. And only she could make him miss the heat. The night of the launch arrived.

“No. But I should have. Guys like you usually bring them with you.” I smirked. “Guys like me?” “Leather, tattoos… gunshot wound,” he said dryly. “You scream of trouble.” He wasn’t wrong. “And you don't want any of that?” “Name’s Ash,” I muttered when he didn't reply and finally regretted it. Where were we? Tenth grade? I was watching him move around the small room tending to my wounds with precision. “Noah.” He finally said, not looking up. “Thanks, Noah.”

It looked like a man. "Hi!" I heard as cold shivers ran down my spines. Standing before me was a man with piercing blue eyes and had a jet-black hair. "Hey!" He said again waving at me as he tucked his hands back into his black leather jacket. "Who are you?" I asked trying to hide my fear. "I am Asher," the man replies, his voice low and mysterious. "And I'm here to help you take down Hailey and Kayla once and for all." He told me.

I snapped, pushing past her to open the window wider. “Asphyxia. That's the medical term that covers the entire…concept of suffocation. Just so you know, you know. But it's not like I was trying to kill you, or me. We're too young, and I'm incapable of murder, you know that. I've only ever killed geckos since I was born…” She rambled, trailing off when she saw my death stare. I admit, I was more pissed at the fact that her charred whatever woke me up from my dream. I wished I heard everything my father had to say, but unfortunately, I got woken up abruptly.
