Leon was standing still but his eyes are sharp and active, ready to shoot anything that moves. Agnes didn't dare. She didn't move and stood still while her pale face was illuminated by the moon's mocking light. She was disheveled, far from the gracious and precious image that she carried for almost 19 years. Her red hair was like a bird's nest with blades of green grasses and dirt on top of it. She has a small wound on her pale cheeks, corner of her right eye, and lips and they were bleeding. The red blood slid down slowly on her face, painting it red.

Saadiya had suffered a cut to her left arm but it wasn't anything serious, Parvina was attending to her. She looked at Omar and tried to steady her heavy breathing, he had ripped off his throbe and now left with a loose and very transparent under shirt which was no longer white but red and it perfectly outlined his very built muscles, his perspiration having soaked through them, Mariam stared at him for a while until he gave her a thumbs up and she blinked rapidly to clear her head. Focus Mariam, she told herself. He smiled at her and she smiled back but he couldn't clearly see her smile from the distance between them because of the cloth that hid her lower face so she nodded.

Diverging her mind from those painful memories to replace them with these new ones. Pulling back from her, he sees her head tilted to a side. Not willing to show him her face. Yet that Scar, it was visible now. The evidence of his lost child, authentic now. And that's when he looks up at the moon through the window ,remembering Sophie last words making a tear to roll down his eyes. Let your heart guide you to your only light.. Yet, if still the darkness of her eyes veils the truth of light. Remember Scars will always get visible, when all lights are off.

If Cayden and I had just stopped in to say hi, she would have come and given me a hug, but much like my father, she differentiates between her daughter Scarlett and her Alpha Scarlett. “Alpha Scarlett, Beta Cayden. Is everything okay?” She asks, her big green eyes wide with concern and her chocolate brown hair still slightly damp from a shower. It’s like looking into a mirror and seeing my future self. And I’ll tell you, I could do a lot worse. My mother still turns heads and is still a beast on the sparring fields. I’ve never seen her in an actual battle, but I have no doubt she can still kickass.

Three pairs of eyes lifted to meet his, each one sharp in its own way. Alpha Caspian of the Southern Realm's deep bronze skin caught the light as he leaned back in his chair, blond coils slicked away from his brow and his dark eyes hooded as a lazy smirk tugged at his lips. He always looked too calm, as if nothing could ever shake him. Alpha Aleksandr of the Eastern Realm sat rigid beside him with rugged features, dark brown hair and amber eyes hard as flint with a pale scar nicking one brow as he tracked every move Orion made.

Rhea and Lina also closed their eyes, exhausted, while Kaelen insisted on keeping watch. "You should rest too," I said softly to him. "You look like you haven't slept in days." "I'm fine," he replied distantly, his gaze never leaving the cave entrance. The firelight illuminated the scar on his cheek, a new wound, it must have a story. "That scar… how did you get it?" I couldn't help asking. He was silent for a moment. "Lyra. When I tried to stop her from hunting you." "Did you kill her?"

Aiden looks like he might be sick, while Jasper and Marcus both look pissed. I turn back to Zahra just as she stands up straight, and I finally see what they’re staring at. Her back is covered in angry red and white scars, crisscrossing into a horrible lattice over her skin. My stomach churns at the sight. I knew her father had hurt her, but this is the first time I’m seeing the damage with my own eyes. I watch the realization dawn in her expression, and the look on her face nearly breaks me. Stepping forward, I try to ease her anxiety, wanting to brush this off for her sake. “Hey, little one. It’s good to see you enjoying yourself after this morning. How are you feeling?”

Making a turn, my gaze caught on my reflection in a silverware tray and the feeling of disgust also settled within me. The girl staring back had a terrible scar running from the left side of her forehead down her half open nose, half missing lips to the right side of her jawline. Although she could see fairly well, one of her eyes was misty like a dull cloud on a boring day while the other was a vibrant forest green. I was a deformed girl. A freakshow that had no business being at the Luna Queen’s birthday party. Especially, since she hates my family with a passion. “Are you having fun?”

I should feel sad, but oddly enough, I don’t because I have my beautiful mate. We walk through the house and open the door to see Asteria in a standoff with Kronos. Hades holding her back as Fenrir stands in between them both. “You bastard. You may be my grandfather, but you are a fucking disgrace. You took a part of him, his identity, when you knew you could have removed the mark without it.” She shrieks when she throws Hades off her and attacks Kronos. He takes the hits, not fighting back as she releases her frustration on him before she cries and falls to her knees.

I had no idea she was even connected to this world outside the Moonbeam Pack. I tried to avoid her, but before I could turn away, she stepped into my path. “Well, well, well.” She sneered. “Look who’s playing dress up.” I clenched my fists at my sides, willing myself to stay calm. “I don’t know you,” I said, my voice steady. “Please excuse me.” Her lip curled into a cruel smile. “Oh, don’t pretend like you don’t remember me, Rowena. The rejected Luna. The murderer.”
