Erik paused for a minute, a frown crossing his face as he looked over at Silas in understanding. I knew Silas was fated to Celeste, Athena's mother, the promised Queen of Gardenia, before Dela started the war against all realms. The stories of how Celeste died as a hero to her people were what I grew up hearing my whole life. Then to listen to the stories of how her daughter, Athena, rose to power after dethroning Dela were the stories we were told before bed. It was something that children dreamed of becoming.

Aunt? Carissa felt like crying. She looks at Mateo with a blaming expression. Why didn't he tell her that his mother would be coming for breakfast? "What are you doing? Sit." Mateo raised his eyebrow and met her eyes. He then saw her eyes shifting towards his mother and immediately understood. "Mom, this is my mate, Carissa." he then turned to Carissa, "Sweetheart, this is my mother, Empress Lamia." Carissa sucked in a breath, 'Empress? She's the empress?!'

She stepped closer, sitting down beside the bed and gently taking her mother’s warm but frail hand. "I’ve missed you so much," she choked out, her cries heart-wrenching. "I don’t even know where to start, Mom. Everything’s such a mess. Leon... he’s not who I thought he was. He’s destroyed everything!" Athena leaned closer, letting her tears fall freely. This was the only peace she could find. Her mother didn’t stir, but just being near her brought a small measure of comfort. "There’s a man guiding me through all of this, Mom. I don’t know if I can trust him, but he’s the only one who’s offered to help me fight back." Athena’s grip on her mother’s hand tightened, as though seeking strength.

This doesn’t bode well. “Oh, my little star. Please don’t injure yourself further.” mother sighed softly as she hefted two large baskets into the room. “Oh, your highness, let us take those.” Andromache and Hesione hurried to take the baskets from her. “We didn’t expect you. With… what happened….” Melite bowed her head in greeting.

He wouldn't have to wait for his mum to heal him again. "Stay with Riaz. I want to see mother for a second." Venusa said and Atlas nodded. Pulling up her gown to avoid tripping, Venusa went to her mother's residence. When she got there, she met her mother meditating. She sat beside her and meditated alongside. "You're troubled, daughter." Umbria said as she opened her eyes. "What's the matter?" Venusa sighed. She didn't know where to begin. Did she even need to say anything? This is her mother. She knows everything before anyone else does.

He places both hands in his pocket before walking off into the dark Hallway. Theo gives me a creepy smile. Then he comes over to hug me. "Thank you for keeping your promise. I am sorry this happened to you but I am sure Uncle Eros will take care of him." He assures patting my back and I am left to wonder who is the adult here. He may be the sane one in this family. Athena scoffs as she seats elegantly on the couch. She crossed her feet and I could see a bit of her fair thighs. There wasn't a single blemish. "I guess my sons take you as their mother now."

So, while my father couldn’t help but smile, there was a twinge of grief in his eyes. "Would my mother be happy for me? Would she be pleased with me?" I asked my father. He got up from his chair and gave me a hearty hug. I already knew this was love; a Dad’s love. "Regardless of what happens, your mother will always, always be proud of you. She is observing us from the Paradise that our goddess Luna created for us. She watches you grow into the woman she aspired to be," he told me.

My pulse drums in my ears. “Scarlett,” the figure says. A woman’s voice, low and sharp. “You deserve the truth.” She steps forward. Moonlight spills over her features. I gasp. It’s my mother. “Mom?” My voice cracks. “What are you—” “Stay back,” Damien warns, but she ignores him. Maria’s eyes glitter with something between sorrow and fury. “I told myself you’d never have to know. But they won’t stop. They never stop.”

He was still finding it difficult to believe that he already bore threr kids and the woman that gave birth to them did not let him know about it and yet, she used to work under him! Who the hell does that? He thought again and glared more coldly at her as the bodyguard led them to a very private part of the restaurant. How did he want to explain such ugly relationship that existed between them? The mother of his kids was his stepsister or the mother of his kids was the daughter to his stepmother. Just so annoying! She was shocked to see Stephen and her mother, already seated. The moment they set their eyes on them, they looked as if they had been waiting for them.

“Please, Miss Felicia…” Rose whispered. “My son did nothing wrong. I'm telling you the truth.” For a moment, something moved in Felicia’s eyes. Rose couldn't tell what it was. Part pity, part doubt. “Please, leave now,” Miss Felicia said. Her voice sounded final. Rose fell to her knees. “Please, I'm a single mother. He's all that I have,” she cried. Rose’s words shook her, her heart melted as she turned to Rose. She could feel her pain.
