Even my mother’s sandwich is made just the way she likes it.
I can tell my mother is thinking about something. I give her a minute and when she doesn’t say anything, I prompt her.
“What’s on your mind mother?” I ask, expecting it to be about the pending war. However, my mother surprises me.
“Your mate is lonely, Cohen,” she says, focusing her intense eyes on me. Her wolf, Artemis is forward, so the two of them must have been discussing this. I set my fork down and focus on my mother. If this is important enough for Artemis to be involved, then it’s important.
