KAI’S POINT OF VIEW. I felt the tremor in Aurora’s body under the pads of my fingers; it was a fine, violent shivering that traveled from her ribs into the palm of my hand. She was hollowed out, her spirit buckling under the weight of Denise’s lies and the judgmental, narrow-eyed glares of the Orsini vipers. She kept herself pressed to my back, her body trembling like she’d been left in an avalanche of snow on the Antarctic continent.

The scream didn’t just echo; it shattered the world. It was a sound of pure agony, of a soul tearing itself apart, of power too vast for a single body to contain. Another asked, “Why is it active now?” Elara didn’t hesitate. “Because my daughter accidentally woke it up.” That sentence landed like a dropped glass.

She screamed then glared at me as if that would stop me. I tsk when she attempts to close her legs and place my shoulders in between, so she can’t close them. An electric shiver courses through her when I lower my mouth to her core, hovering but not touching. She moans when I inhale deeply despite the slight embarrassment I sense in her. Aurora's flavor is divine, reminiscent of the memory from that fateful night after I laid my wife to rest. Aurora broke the shell. "What!"

I was feeling the pain of the sprinkles of holy water being thrown at me, it's like glass cutting through my flesh. I was wailing with pain as every words written in that stupid bible cuts my insides, I can feel my bile rising up my stomach as I vomit brownish green fluids out. I can feel myself weakening. It's as if my soul is being cast out of Cassidy's body.

The rhythm of the classical song that played in the background filtered into my ears and I found myself humming along with it. It was yet another function. However, Aurora was not on my arm, Leah accompanied me this time. "I'm back," She sighed, returning from her bathroom break. "Finally. I thought you'd left me to die of boredom." I said exaggeratedly. She chuckled, "I love you too much to let that happen to you." "Thank you." I exhaled.

I had taken Audrey's hand and started running, it was funny how I thought we had escaped and suddenly she dropped down beside me. Time seemed to slow down as I watched blood seeping out of her head, I just stood there like my brain had gone on lockdown watching as she died. All I knew was that I was suddenly pulled into a car and later I found myself at the institution again but I still couldn't focus on anything apart from the fact that Audrey was dead just like I took people's lives, she was taken from me. -- "What do you think is wrong with her? She gets like this after a mission and it's getting worse".
